These are the same people who crap on the AR while saying that the m14 was the greatest rifle known to man when in reality it had way more problems then the AR ever had.
I have several criticisms of the AR-15 rifle, and I own one😊. I carried the M-16A1 for years in the infantry, and every one of us knew that it was chambered for a varmit cartridge. The round you choose to shoot a groundhog with shouldn't be the same as the round you shoot a 200 pound dangerous animal with. The Army, as it has always done, found ways to make it work. Many many years later, it is a reasonable rifle, but it's still not the perfect combat rifle.
The AR really was kind of flop since it came out in the 1950’s and hardly anyone owned one. At the time you could mail a check and have one shipped via US Mail to your house! During the 1960’s, 70’s, 80’s it still wasn’t popular, but occasionally in the 80’s you would see the very old original style. More often in a movie. Wood stocks and blued steel traditional rifles prevailed until the 90’s.
Left out the part where they used to have a serious problems about how many lives were lost in Vietnam because of that piece of garbage that had to be cleaned all the time the VC never clean their kalashnikovs I never had any problems with them
The ar was NOT a flop. The ammunition was super dirty and not in spec. Try shooting a few mags of black powder through any semi auto and see how far ya get 😂

It was an alright design all be it with a few hiccups it was really the environment it was fielded in and the army itself that was the problem.

I love my AR 15's and my lever actions ! It's more fun to build than receive!

The AR is an excellent weapon
I survived the hype all these years. Never put a penny into one.
Rifles by Mattel is what they used to call them.
