  1. Well this guys telling me stuff I’ve used for awhile was a waste of my time . I had a 458 in a #1 for awhile never hunted it yes it was heavy both in weight and recoil . Had several 6mm and 244’s , they were and still are deer adequate in a reasonable distance same as the 243 . The 444 Marlin I’ve had a pile of experience using in woods hunting for whitetails and black bear . Think I’ve owned about thirty Marlin leveractions chambered for the 444 made between 1964 and 1975 and another made in 2001 and two of the 444P with those guns Ive taken close to 15 deer with jacketed bullets and another forty or so with bullets I cast myself in cast I used 200 grain all the way up to 425 grains . There’s a lot of folks that’ll tell you those early micro groove guns won’t handle weights above 265 or 300 grains that’s not factually correct . In those old guns I’ve shot and killed deer and bear with up to 375 grains . 380 – 425 grain bullets were fired in the Ballard rifled gun from 2001 . Never owned a 300 RUM but loaded for a couple as well as the 338 RUM true they have a bit of a thump but not terrible . I ‘ve owned a few 223’s in bolt actions that shot nicely just never been a fan of the cartridge . In my own case factory ammo cost is a moot point rarely do I shoot factory as I prefer my handloads . Anyway I’ll agree with them on the 458 it’s a bit much for North America but the 6mm/244 and 444 this guys out in left field . The 300 RUM isn’t bad just a touch heavy to carry very far and finally a pile of deer have been killed by 223’s not by me but by others . Anyway that’s my opinion , you may not agree but I’m sticking to it .

  2. Every cartridge has its application gonna cover everything in some cliff notes for everyone here, this is just a click bait video..
458 Win is a dangerous game cartridge..

6mm Rem is a pest and varmint control round..

6.5 Creedmoor was created with the idea put holes in paper at long range..

444 Marlin is as tested as 30-30.. In the Midwest where you tend to hunt in smaller clearings it is more than acceptable.. Modern alternatives like the 45-70? Now I know you have no idea what you are talking about.. 45-70 is a larger much older cartridge, the 444 Marlin is actually the modern alternative to the 45-70.. Comes in a smaller more compact rifle and is a overall lighter package..

300 RUM not really wrong about it..

The 223 Remington, One of the best pest and varmint rounds.. Flat shooting and carries enough energy to dispatch them at distance.. The high pitch crack? How about discharging a rifle and the report always disturbing game..

Have you ever even owned a firearm? I see a lot of using stock images in this..

  3. Ok now the 223. I can tell you this, I done a tour or two in Iraq and Afghanistan. 1 tour to Somalia for about a month in 93. I can’t tell you how many enemies I’ve dropped with a 223 past 600 yards. 600 yards is not typical, but has been done. I never heard a soldier complain about their weapon. We just took care of business. Back then to get the effect range of a fire are was we suggested the target to be 6 foot tall, 200 lbs, heavy clothing. A deers skin is pretty thin. The 68 grain to 75 grain bullets work pretty good on deer out 500 yards from what I’ve seen first hand. I know because I’ve done it. It’s nothing but a thang.

  4. Now the 300 RUM. Load up some 230 Grain Berger bullets and you will see over 3100 FPS from a 26” Barrel. It will still be subsonic past 2000 yards. The 338 Lapua Mag can’t even do that. It drop below subsonic around 1500 yards.
