In this episode of Sundays on the Range, I’m talking about a common claim that keeps popping up in the media — that the AR-15 is “too powerful” for deer hunting.
We’re looking at the reality behind that statement by comparing it to other rifles hunters have used for decades. It’s not about politics — it’s about being honest, using common sense, and understanding the tools we use.
Let’s clear the air.

Awesome display of the different rounds. Really shows the media bias! As far as myths goes. My top 2 favorites/most irritating. The TV and movies make a 45 look so powerful that it throws people back several feet when getting shot. No way in the world that's true. 2nd is usually from the "gun guy." The .380 is too small to use for personal defense. You need a 9mm or bigger. The .380 is also know as the 9mmx18 while the 9mm is 9mmx19. It is literally the same bullet and 1mm less brass. At 5-10 feet there's no real ballistic difference. Science is fun. Haha
