  1. At basically all the price points I prefer the Nikon to the Zeiss because of the feel, optically I can't tell the difference between them. The Swarovski ones have some kind of magic happening because there is a clear optical difference between them and all the others, which is why all the professional birders I know have them.

  2. I sell binoculars in Germany, my all time favorite are the Swarovski NL Pure 10×32
They come in at a similar price point as the bigger EL series, while being optically superior to every other Binocular I was able to lay my hands on.
Dont try the NL Pure series unless you want to buy them. Everything else doesnt feel right after you used them😂

  3. For me, do you really get more out of that extra $1000-1300? Can you see what you're looking at with the Nikons for $1K, if so, then spend the remainder on a lens to photograph what you've seen. I have Nikon Action EX 8×40 and they're more than good enough for what I need as a guide in Africa. Maybe I'll invest in slightly smaller one day but I don't find the need for outrageously expensive binos.

  4. I'd be interested, yes – although I just recently replaced a pair of damaged Nikon Sporter 8×42 with the current Prostaff P3s (both in the sub-200 EUR range …) Where they excel is eye relief (I wear glasses).
For anyone looking for a pocketable "EDC" model, try the Pentax/Ricoh AD 8×25 WP.
