When installing the trigger guard, put some playing cards under the trigger guard ear to support it so it won’t break off.
That "rod" is called a roll pin
The "rods" are called rolled pins. You should be using rolled pin punches to set these so they dont get mushroomed out
This was an extremely helpfully video. Is it better to lubricate parts before assembly or should you lubricate parts after assembly?
the vice grip block negates all savings for the parts kit. useless video
Hint about marking, use a marker from the office supply that says "laundry marker" on it. The mark is really permanent that way.

When I started building these rifles videos where nowhere to be found, you could find articles with pictures on line but that was it.

Will this same kit in a different upper (like a quad rail) work the same with the lower? Is it compatible or do I have to get your same upper and kit to make it work?

Grab a set of Grace roll pin punches & roll pin starters. 100x easier.
For the trigger roll pin, it's a good idea to have some support under the bottom of the trigger guard housing – Way too easy to snap one of those "ears" off if the pin doesn't line up 100%.
Invest in some roll pin punch set lol😢

Good video, thanks. A 1/4" x 2" clevis pin can be bought from Home Depot for a buck fifty. Use it and a small diameter punch in lieu of the $20 pivot pin tool. Weren't you worried about breaking an ear off your lower installing the trigger roll pin, ear unsupported? Can't believe the U-tube overlords haven't blackballed you yet! LOL! Keep up the great videos!
