What goes into a rifle that will last? After three years of YouTube and shooting more rounds into the dirt than I want to think about; I take a moment to break down my first AR build and what parts I put into it to make it last even after 100,000 rounds of fire.
We aren’t linking any products because it’s frowned on by YouTube, but definitely don’t use google to find them and try code please at many of the checkouts.

Wait, so you swapped no parts on the Geissele BCG? Why did you call it a microbest?
Wanna see that cam pin groove sir.
Got some awesome gubment overun true hbar 14.5 barrels with the sightpost about 6 years ago from DavidsonDefense. I love the rifles they were built around, wish I hadda gotten more when they had them. I think another sight got them all, and started selling them for double. But really, besides their in house uppers they have some awesome handguards, and other parts at way lower prices than others. I always paruse their selection for stuff. You never know what little jewel they'll have if you like to build. Never had a problem with them with anything. I buy alot of AR parts. toooo much
got un-subbed by the beast system.
Lot of haters in the comments
I switched to that same GDCH on an 11.5'' 5.56 with a traditional baffle stack/tube type can. Ridiculously gassy, with a low mass bcg, extra power spring, and adjustable gas block (standard carbine buffer) the gas is as low as I can set it and thankfully it's happy and reliable there. Super soft shooting and most importantly, thanks to SilencerCo, pleasant and almost gas-face free! They got that one right no doubt about it!
For 40,000 rounds on two aero barrels?… sheesh.
Barrel and bcg is what takes the pressure not the trigger
Been trying to get people to hear about the dupli-color ceramic automotive stuff for a long time now. Insanely hard-wearing. Made the mistake of doing a base coat with their ceramic primer and it's now a part of the aluminum, three rounds of citri-strip and a stiff brush can't shift it.
I have a solgw bcg and the gas ring are toast after less than a 1000rds, extremely disappointed.
So the big question…? How many barrels did you have to change to make that platform accomplish 100,000 rounds…?
Most barrels will start to distort projectiles around 15,000, because of muzzle erosion and throat erosion…. Not to mention most Bolts will also fail way before 100,000 rounds…!
In the eyes of an ATF, once something becomes a rifle it is always now considered a rifle. Not trying to be a bootlicker I would just hate to see you get tied up for a stupid reason
Love the video. Very informative. Unfortunately due to my personal situation I have to stay closer to budget build price point so this was a perfect video for me so I sincerely thank you. This was my first time watching you and I'll be watching many more. Thank you much!
GREAT video!!! what handguard is that ??
Might not be your cup of tea, or defeat the purpose if your plans are to specifically continue with your 100k round rifle as you NV rifle, but if you want to cut down on the gas in your face, a Gibbz non-reciprocating side-charging upper helps a lot.
It also "synergizes" with the Radian lower's ADAC system to make potentially life-saving malfunction clearing even faster and easier. Which gives them my vote for best advancements to Stoner's design, just ahead of the 6 ARC cartridge, Adjustable gas systems(Riflespeed is the peak in that department), M-Lok, Carbon Fiber wrapped barrels and built-in Arca rails.
What bolt lasted 100k rounds!?
As long as your -2" (MOA) actually doing pretty good
Sorry I’m late to the party yall!! Great video – This gun is so sick. I feel like it’s a living time capsule for the channel. I remember shooting this early on in the rainy days of WA. Excited to party it up soon.
With 5k on it how do you like that new Rosco Sage 12.5 barrel?
ran across you guys with the frt delta trigger and love the videos, will defiantly recommend your videos to others
Not all $1000 rifles are built the same, and Barry from Archer explained that perfectly. A lot of thought went into choosing the right components and not cheaping out with "just as good" parts. If you know what you're doing, you can put together a serious tool.
My mind is blown by how many people believe this guy.
"Why would a guy on the internet lie?"
Does anyone believe him?
Anyone………..?
So you spent around $60-100,000??
I call BS.
Oh my.. original gas rings is diabolical.
What riser is that ?
Tonight on Desk Pop: the crew runs without a cameraman. Joe says PLEASE. And Thomas loves to RISE.
Dope
Prove gas rings are fine stand it up by the bolt face and it should stay extended out
HSL ammo is great. They did short me some ammo when I bought in bulk last. Not a ton but a bit.
Love the BAD lever concept and glad you like it too, recommend taking it to the next level with the phase 5 V3 extended bolt catch, even less wobble than the bad lever with tape since it replaces the entire bolt catch, have never had an issue, is mandatory for all my rifles because of the added ambi control capability
Why is you magpul vfg cut like that?? Normally when you cut you cut it flat or angled foreward.
1000$ build…optic alone is $700 lol
Damn I shouldve left comments back when I started watching when you made the RFB vid
I didn't believe it one bit, but then i watched the video and believed. Funny how that works. Appreciate you sharing
25 in/lbs for a buffer tube!? Milspec is 40 FOOT POUNDS, so… that’s 480 in/lbs. no wonder it keeps coming loose. That’s crap if that’s their recommended torque spec for that thing.
I know youtubers shoot a lot but damn, 100k rounds. One of my rifle is at 8000 round count and its a $450 AR15 build tacfire kit. The barrel is getting worn out a lot, used to be 1.5moa, its now a 2moa on the exact same ammo at an indoor range at 100 yards. More than half the round counts are from my reloads. My other AR15 ($700 build delta team tactical with faxon barrel) which I use for 200+ yard shooting has over 3000 rounds on it.
Some of the stuff here is a bit hard to believe.
Not even a buffer spring replaced?
You should post a yearly report of ammo spent on this setup as a power move to the non-believers
Forward assist enjoyer here 😂
I see every video you guys make. This one never showed up in my feed. Boo YT algorithm.
Aaaaaay, MKR used to be my "local" gun shop. Moved away 3 ish years ago now
Impressed by your success with the Rise triggers. I've seen multiple instances of those turning into accidental binaries.
Unfortunately this vid didn't show up in my subscriptions again. Youtube is frustrating sometimes.
As far as the rifle – congrats on that milestone. Impressive commitment and it still looks great.
That’s Amazing!!
I have a couple Rosco Barrels, a bit gassy but using a Geissele H2 is very smooth
Love you guys and still can’t thank you enough for my Saddam Hussein rookie card
How long did the canooter valve last, and what is the overall opinion on it?
Awesome video. Super impressive results…… and who else out there has a post 100k round review?
