On Friday, March 28th, the House Taxation Committee will hold a hearing on House Bill 854, creating a tax credit for firearm suppressor purchases. Please contact members of the committee directly by using the TAKE ACTION button below and urge them to SUPPORT HB 854!

HB 854 provides for a $50 refundable tax credit for the federally required tax stamps for the purchase and possession of a firearm suppressor. The refund would be made available in 2026, and includes a sunset clause for the end of 2027. The bill is designed to help protect shooters from long-term hearing damage by offsetting costs imposed by the federal government for the safety device.
