ATF can not be abolished until the NFA and GCA are repealed first. If gun control laws stay in place, the responsibility will be transferred over to the more powerful and well-funded FBI which has proven to be very corruptible too.
The best thing to do until then is to separate out the law enforcement from the bookkeeping. ATF just processes paperwork so FFLs can sell guns. Law enforcement must be requested of some other agency. It leaves a nice paper trail.
Silencers are as necessary for firearms as a muffler is for a car. Reduce noise pollution and protect the hearing of those using it and around it.
Let’s abolish the ATf period but this would be a good start

A suppressor is safer to use for your hearing protection then ear plugs as well as you can hear what's going on around you while you shoot.
