Passive aiming is a very useful tool to have on a primary weapon. On a handgun it’s perhaps less important, but “pistol” red dots are often used in other applications. In this video, we go over the passive night vision performance of most pistol red dots currently on the market.

Why did he say the pistol
Is the third line of defense?
I have heard that from somewhere else and I feel like I’m missing something….
helpful
For the algorithm, you rock and the atf is gay.
Acro walls too thick
Steiner mps Hop you got glaucoma or something dude nobody says this isn’t totally clear.
LIKED AND SUBSCRIBED!!! Thank you for giving the viewers this information. What is the setup on the Steiner MPS
I think the only reason the DPP has a reputation for being fragile is because for years it could only be compared to the RMR, which is like the best in the industry for durability.
Has anyone compared the 4t or romeo5 do the performance of the rmr?
Not really interested in night vision shooting with a pistol. Rather, I’m looking for something to attach to my lpvo that will give me passive aiming capabilities.
"DARC" haha, I'll give you an even worse one: "GNU" means "Gnu is Not Unix"
Great vid. But like normal I have to replay parts to get the model numbers (so fast, much replay), but at this point I'm pretty sure it a tactic to get more view metrics… Either way, great vid.
One thing that bugs the shit out of me is that piggy back mounts for DPP do not also support the sig red dots. The R1P, and R2 do not have the front lug post hole like the RomeoX does, so really the R10 and R2 have the same thread pattern as the DPP but they do not share the exact footprint for mounts unfortunately
As a guy who’s primary weapon is a m17 due to being aircrew and an easy 50% of our opps being conducted under nvg’s I wish there was more content out there on running a pistol under nvg’s. Not kicking in doors but if I do need to shoot at night it becomes incredibly counterintuitive to do so. Maybe this discussion defaults to figure something else out but still it’s a conversation I would like to hear between you and brassfacts.
Ok have people really had that much problem with halosun? I got two and never had a problem.
Much like trying to figure out what to pick for your rifle optic it comes back to the expensive (for you) optic you skipped past first
RMR always you literally can not go wrong
Wait, Holosun handgun optics have a bad reputation? Usually Everyone Says that they are great and live for Years. That's been my Experience as well with 2 507's XC2
You’re amazing, Hop.
Don’t have a red dot on my pistol nor close the budget even dream of nods. Still here larping
The only reason why you may think nods and pistols are silly is because you aren't wearing a bandana while speaking over on coms with a husky voice during the usage of said two things.
Did I see a shooting star a bit after nine minutes into the vid? That was pretty cool.
It is like skipping stones in water, every throw is different, so is watching videos, specially as great as the ones in this channel!
My use case is wandering around my property at night and hiking before the sun comes up, so my EPS makes a great carry optic and shoot-a-bear-at-night optic.
Nice catch on the shooting star
I disagree with your opening. This subject has me, for the first time, considering putting in actual effort towards trying a pistol dot.
My s&w shield is always on me, so, it's what I've had when going out & about at the farm at night. Which has lead to me relying on it's crimson trace light to shoot the critters getting at the chickens fairly often.
With Texas sun, white parking lots, high humidity, trouble finding the dot, and a tight budget, pistol dots have plain seemed stupid to me. (I did borrow a friends & tried it out, to terrible effect. Once I was in the shade, or aiming at something dark I could search for and find the dot, but against the orange and white targets and out in the sun it couldn't get bright enough)
Now, provided I spend the money on nvgs, a reddot pistol could make sense, specifically for dealing with critters. Enough so that finding a dot that can be seen, isn't vulnerable to fog/humidity/sweat, and then training with it would be worth considering. Provided that the nvgs are grabbed on the way out the door
I wish Trijicon would just fix the distortion. After transitioning from an MRO to a Romeo 4T I just can’t stand the RMR or MROs glass. I still use and trust my RMR but the MRO is just unusable now.
The fact that the Romeo-M17 can only be mounted with factory integrated tritium night sights ruined the entire package.
10:40 100% agree
So the older holosuns had bigger buttons, but they had to go to small buttons because trijicon sued them for using the same size buttons as them
Me just with a holosun lol
That was awesome how the N.V. camera caught that shooting star at 8:57

Jsyk hoplopheil is a neo Nazi that why it says heil in his name.. also a ftm trans.
Sky looks good at 8:57
This applies heavily to top mounted dots. Thanks for this.
Staccato P video soon?
