I guess I'm missing on the website where to buy these. I see the stock adaptor but no barrel QD parts. I have an existing ATI Omni AR Pistol in 5.56 that I'd like to install this on.
What’s the longest barrel that can fit in the bag ?
From a looks standpoint, this is my favorite of the takedown systems. The locking mechanism being almost completely contained within the handguard is much less conspicuous than the LEO, Dolos, Cry Havoc, etc, systems. It also is very quick to attach/detach, second only to the LEO, and the barrel is actually fixed within the handguard assembly, unlike the Dolos.
Now, what I don't like: It appears to be offered in basically one configuration that I can't use (don't have a pistol permit and in NY we cannot have SBRs, so 8" barrel is not useful to me), includes stuff that I don't need (bolt carrier, barrel) making it more expensive than it needs to be, and uses a lot of proprietary parts (upper, handguard) so I can't even change that configuration. I want a 16" barrel (with target crown), a handguard that's long enough to at least cover a carbine-length gas system and an upper receiver with no FA (I have SCRs and don't want the useless hump.)
It says above that the user can put on a 16" barrel, but there isn't such a kit offered and you cannot buy just the proprietary barrel nut and handguard to make your own. If this were offered in a kit with just the upper receiver, barrel nut, charging handle (since it's proprietary) and a longer handguard (they do look nice), I'd buy one, if not two. Unfortunately, in its current form, it's not useful to me.
