  1. Not the best tool option for barrel installation. If the tool does not engage the barrel extension like a bolt, then all the counter rotational force is placed on the barrel index pin which can bend or break. I learned this the hard way. I recommend the Midwest Upper Reciever Rod for barrel installs

  2. I wouldn’t have used the vism upper receiver jig for a barrel installation. But that’s just me. I’ve seen barrel pins get broken because the jig doesn’t really secure the barrel in place when applying torque to the locking nut making the barrel break out of alignment. It’s a decent tool but not for a barrel install. 🤙🏼

  3. wrong tool for the job. notice how you had to hold the upper receiver. you can bust location pins on your barrel or shear the threads on your upper. also in can cause you gas hole to walk as you location pin starts to bend.
what you should be using is a Midwest Upper Receiver Rod. it holds yur upper and barrel in one place.
so when ever you tighten or loosen a barrel nut the barrel will ALWAYS try to spin. which is why the URR is the correct tool bc it holds both parts in place n properly indexed.
im an amateur myself but its one of the 1st things my gunsmith told me.

  4. When you use an extension on your torque wrench, make sure it's adjacent to the head to have an accurate torque value.

If you add length to the head with the adapter, your actual torque values will be off and you can overtorque it due to the added leverage.

  5. Imagine buying an overpriced upper and using VISM TOOLS TO ASSEMBLE IT. Please for the love of god, buy a Midwest Industries Upper Receiver Rod. Under $100 and will reliably keep your barrel secured completely when you tighten down your barrel nut.
