The reticle is intuitive if you zero in its height over bore using the bottom line of the reticle as the reference to shoot in cqb and the center dot for longer ranges. Much easier to do that than referencing and hovering a single dot above or below target for cqb and longer engagements
all eotech's major downsides have always been battery life when compared to other optics and are mostly in the 400-600 hour range in terms of battery consumption

Im not too sure if i have an astigmatism but my eotech reticle is very pixelated some with my UH1

EOTech is by far my favorite optic. Tried the other big brand name optics (ACOG, T2, Vortex Razor, etc.) and I just keep coming back to the EOTech.
