Havent got many rifle with detachable magazine. I prefer internal magazine. Allway have. Give it a flat profile for carrying
I have a gen 1 American in 6.5 CM and all my experience with the Ruger American relate to that gun only. Mine has a AICS magazine. I have used both Bergara and Ruger magazines and they do require some trimming to make them feed quickly. I have seen videos of people who have converted the Ruger mags to aics mags.

I have a few original RA rifles. Love them.
I have one orig magazine RA. MY 300 BO, It feeds flawless.
I have the newer magazine and I have the AR magazine guns. None have been problem.

I read somewhere years ago that many weapon stoppages are related to problems with the magazine. I realise some plastic mags are ok but I have been disappointed with IMO some manufacturers taking shortcuts with the magazines. Unlike my old Sako and Mauser 98! Thanks John. 🇺🇸 🇳🇿
