When I did my video on the CMMG MK47 Dissent, I loved it, but I had one issue, I wished it had a shorter barrel.
Fast forward three months, and CMMG sends me their 12.5 inch version of the MK47 Dissent in a pistol configuration with a beautiful bronze color.
Though this Mk47 dissent is more or less the exact same as the previous Mk47 in terms of. features and looks, having a shorter barrel does change how the gun shoots.
There is a little more recoil, but the gun wields so much better now.
I’ll take that with the slight increase in recoil any day.

Also, it baffles me how often I’ve seen people try to use actual AirPods as hearing protection on the range.
Airpods are not designed to protect your ears from the decibel levels of gunshots.
That’s why Airpods don’t advertise a Noise Reduction Rating like these in-ear Bluetooth hearing protection, with a Certified NRR rating of 25.
These also have a pass-through hearing feature that allows you to still hear the environment around you while you’re shooting or listening to music.

You can treat a single stage just like a two stage. Touching it is your first stage and squeezing the tissue in your finger tip until you put enough pressure on it to make it go bang is is the second stage… it’s just more sensitive and forces you to pay even closer attention to that break
You should compare this and your rifle dynamic with the PTR32P. You can either a brace on it or use an sbr version.

I think anything between 10½ – 15½ inch barrel would be SBR. Anything below 10½ inch barrel would be a pistol. But hey, maybe they'll start putting pistol grips on 24 inch guns.?

Someone at a gun shop told me it was illegal to put a LPVO on a pistol braced ar. He said the law states you need an optic with infinite eye relief. Has anyone heard this or is it malarkey?

I built a 10.5" side charging AR in 7.62×39. It has last round hold open and uses all AR parts. Cost less than a CMMG too.
You can get the bolt to hold open with a Yugoslavian magazine that has the bho follower.
I agree for a practical use rifle I'd take that over an AK all day.
I can't buy one in California.
