This is a GTWO or “get the word out” [go to war option if you want] in field review. I get a lot of requests of “best scope for an AR” still. I have covered this area a fair amount ( but dudes wonder if more advanced scopes are available, esp. LPVO options. The answer is probably yes.
Here I cover the Sig Sauer Tango-MSR LPVO 1-10X28mm SFP, my preferred option after I researched the entire line up. It was purchased with donation dollars. Immediately I was impressed with the scope, its features, and value.
The Tango MSRs seem to provide a notch above mid optical quality and feature surprising build quality for the money. This variation has a 34mm tube, include Alpha 1 pc mount [nice value there], throw lever, illuminated BC reticle, strong scope caps, low dispersion glass, and useful markings. I’ll show you all this.
And then we get to shooting. You’ll see I’m genuinely impressed with the Sig Sauer Tango-MSR LPVO 1-10X28mm, esp. at it’s reasonable price (below). I will not say my previous recommends, also below, are not still awesome. They are and many will be forever on several TNP guns.
But it’s Sig optics star seems to be shining brightly with this Tango line.

TNPrs who donate to me in Patreon make the continuation of TNP possible!

  1. Well our clown world continues but I keep cranking out content you like. Thanks for coming out to the vid. This is where I post mostly b. this is where the audience has stayed. BTW this review would not exist without TNP Donors, please consider joining long term. I’m so dumb how I operate it I don’t even have TIER levels there; you can join for a $3 per creation (only 6 charged per month btw). You can now join up for FREE. But of course it’s the paying members that keep the show going. TNP Patreon is where the action is! https://www.patreon.com/Nutnfancy.

  2. I have the 1-6 and LOVE it! I’ve seen bad reviews on the Tango but it always turns out to be the 1-10 and I passed on that one for the 1-6 because I didn’t like the glass and clarity of the 1-10. The higher magnification wasn’t worth losing the clarity that the 1-6 has! I wish he’d have gotten both and compared the two against each other.

  3. My main squeeze setup is a 14.5" Geissele Super Duty with a 1-6 Vortex PST genII in an Aero ultralight SPR mount, and an offset enclosed emitter 509T on an Arisaka mount for contingency/1x when scope is bumped up in magnification.

I find it to be the best at the true 1x red dot performance that i consider most likely to be needed in a general purpose do-it-all rifle, BUT also having that ability to ID and make effective hits at distance with 6x.
And then a Cloud Rein 3.0 rifle light.

Personally i think the priority should be within 100yds, but having the ability to crank up and IDENTIFY and make consistent combat-effective hits at 300+ is vital. Or just low oercentage shots even within 100-200yds on partially exposed targets.

And something people often overlook is PROPER DUTY AMMUNITION. personally i have stocked 77gr OTMs and 64gr Bonded Soft points.

My Geissele rifle is zeroed for 64gr Bonded Soft Points which share POI very well with 62gr Green tips

And my 16" SPR rifle build is dialed for 77gr OTMs as it is more designated for longer shots. But also has an offset red dot for closer work when needed, which is why i didnt go 18-20" because it still needs to fill the role of urban city use

  4. I don't really understand why guys want 1x so badly. Why not just use a 3-18x or 4-24x with a saddled RDS? I don't even care about illumination anymore, gimmick feature for dawn/dusk shooting. RDS works better for targets you can actually see and shoot in those conditions

  5. I bought the 1-8 to temporarily use until I could get the night force atacr 1-8 and I think it’s a good scope for the money especially. My biggest knock on it was the illumination of the reticle sucked and the eye box but definitely a serviceable for sure held zero and didn’t break on me . I ended up running it for about a year.

  6. You almost sold me on it. I like that it includes a mount is all. I hate the Sig website and manual and everything to do with that compared to Vortex. The manual doesn't even say what distance it should be zeroed for and what grain weight and speed they calc their drop marks for. I understand it can all change but at least Vortex gives all those details in a manual that isn't hard to find on their website. Yes all you have to do is go to their support page but I'm pointing out how much I hate Sig's material compared to Vortex which is why I would trust Vortex at face value more. Just have to wait for more 1-10 from Vortex.

  7. I got the vortex strike eagle, I’m committed to hang with Vortex on every gun I have. This Sig scope had me questioning that tho, and the Leupold 450 bushmaster scope but vortex makes a straight wall bdc.

  8. I actually had one and just sold it. It's not bad glass at all but I personally didn't like the reticle. I just don't like the BDC reticle all that much, but if someone likes that reticle, it's a great LPVO for the price

  9. This is a pretty powerful piece of glass for the weight. Scopes really have come a long way since the Gen 2 PA SLX 1-6 I've been rocking.

I just got a nice big box of TNP patches and hats in the mail yesterday and want to thank you for being so courteous with me. Do you know when the TNP shark hat might come back? You'll have my money when I see it again.

  10. The problem with Sig optics is that they will come out with new version of this in 1-2 years and this one will be available for half price or less They also don't hold their value on the secondary market.
It just doesn't make any sense to buy a new/current version of a sig optic.

  11. The low turrets is best for visibility and minimizing snag from brush. Also the capped turrets have a better waterproof rating having caps instead of open turret.
For a budget lpvo it has decent glass, weight and comes with a solid mount. The reticle isn’t the best but functions in line with its capability. If you want excellent glass buy a Steiner, if you want decent to good glass buy the MSR or the Swampfox lpvo’s are pretty comparable but for the weight. Swampfox are heavy for its class.

  12. I don't know why they put BDC reticles on SFP scopes that have more magnification than 6x. Just put a duplex and have good turrets. The BDC makes no sense, the drop is different for every magnification, why would anyone want that. For 6x it's okay because you use the BDC on max only but with 10x it's just annoying and useless. Just give us a clean reticle like the old days.

  13. That’s not a tractor. It’s called a Haybine made by New Holland or New Idea farm equipment. Self propelled machine that Cuts alfalfa, squeezes it between a pair of rubber rollers and throws it in a “fluffed up” row behind the machine to dry and bale later. It was a huge innovation of harvesting hay when I was a kid 55 years ago.

  14. Dude I got my 1-10 msr for u der 500 bux!!! They had 2 and i bought both. I mean you're getting 150 mount with it! I haven't had any issues and it looks great. I wish it had parallax adjustment as 10x can get a little fuzzy in wide open fields
