Troy ambidextrous magazine release. This is a review of and installation for the Troy ambidextrous magazine release for the AR-15 rifle. The Troy ambi mag release in my opinion is a must have for left handed AR-15 enthusiasts.

Holy sheet man this video gave me anxiety it's just a magazine release!
Exelent video.. what's told you when its enough turns?
Thanks! Great info super ez fix
Thanks for the video. Thanks for showing what could go wrong. I've got a mag block that fits in a vice to hold the lower while I work on it.
I'm new to the ar15 world. What's the "slanted thing" over the trigger and at the right side of the bolt catch/release button? I'm referring at 04:22 seems a "slanted thing" liked by 2 pins.
It wasn’t that bad
Thank you so much!
Thank you for the great detailed explanation.
Some segments in the video are stamped not adjacent to each other
Great video!
Might be a way to use a padded C clamp to push the button in and hold it steady while replacing the left side.
Awesome Video Ty!
Thank you, my ambi mag release arrived yesterday, I’ll be referring to this video later this evening when I do the install. Best regards!

A pencil eraser works well for holding the button depressed!
Extremely over dramatic!
Thank you.
its a simple process. remove old. install new. adjust for proper function. ive never needed to take pictures of a mag catch/release but to each his own.
btw the Troy ambi mag release is great. i love mine. they will marr the receiver under the button however. if this is a concern, cut a small rectangle of thick mylar sheet or other material and glue it to the receiver behind the mag release button. i cut a piece of the tough plastic cover sheet of a Mead 5-star notebook. has worked perfectly for over 2,000 rounds so far with no marring.
Very good, thank you..
I installed a troy ambi mag release on my colt 6920. when i performed a function check using a p-mag i found that it would not retain the mag securely when pulling on the mag i could pull it out. i had to run the ambi mag way far in exposing allot of thread. have you tried inserting a loaded p-mag then doing the "push pull" function check.
