Most important use and train with iron sights. Have a backup to your backup.
Red dot short range and scope with red dot for long range systems ie any bullet capable of shooting flat 200 plus. On average that's the distance a person, given perfect light and environmentals, can see.
No mention of astigmatism…bit surprising. I have it, I use a prism.

Currently using a 4x VECTOR PRISM SCOPE , so far really impressive , looking to add a enclosed red dot on top but waiting on vector to supply a mounting plate

I use Aimpoint Micro T2 for home defense on a 14.5 BCM recce
And an Eotech EXPs3 with 5x magnifier for other applications on a BCM 16ā recce
I zero at 36 yards gives me the tightest combat spread out to 300 yards about 5-6ā without worrying about my holds
