A recent hog hunting trip revealed that my IR aiming solution for use with night vision was far from ideal and had some glaring shortcomings.
This video explains how I relocated the Steiner DBAL-D2, and added an Aimpoint PRO in an American Defense Manufacturing AD-68-NV-STD mount to have a passive aiming option that doesn’t require active use of IR and makes holding the rifle a far more comfortable and natural endeavor.
I will still be using the Trijicon AccuPoint 1-4x in the LaRue LT-104 mount for shooting during daylight most of the time as I am confident in its return-to-zero capability. The new mount for the Aimpoint is also supposed to return to zero as well, although I will test to confirm this.
