Today we go over why I chose the 11.5″ Midwest Industries Rail Guard over the Aero Precision S-One and R-One rail guards when the rest of my AR-15 Pistol is an Aero Precision weapon. We go over the differences between the Atlas S-One, R-One and Enhanced Rail Guard.
The barrel featured in this barrel is the Noveske 12.5″ barrel. I chose this barrel because Noveske has a great reputation for building quality barrels and it should last me a long time.

Railguard😂 guard that rail😮
I can't tolerate how he calls it a rail guard…. Lol
IT'S A HANDGUARD! NOT A RAIL GUARD HOLY SHIT!
They are nice and beefy, be prepared to add some weight, you must have the latest and the greatest but on mine (AR15) type there were no shims included so you must play around with the barrel nut torque to align the gas tube correctly. I was expecting not to have to deal with that but the nut does require to be indexed, bummer.
holy shit this is exactly the lineup I've been looking at!
"When Operating" lol
It’s so freaking strange how this thing is ILLEGAL TO OWN in just a short time after this video
Learn your terminology and the actual product names. Dislike.
Those Aero hand guards use two different barrel nuts.
I was between these same two guards myself. Your video helped make up my mind to go with the MI rail. Also, im the same way, i like my builds to be of the same parts by the same manufacture.
Looks like Midwest Industries Combat haandguard. Since you've mounted that on the M4e1 I'm guessing that's the threaded version, not the enhanced, which is what you need for that FDE Atlas R. I'm a Midwest Industries fan as they are only 4 miles from me. They're my go-to FFL.
“Rail guard”?! R-One…’atlas precision’ Tha hell is that?
I thought this would go beyond…my barrel length
Rail or handguard
UHMM AERO HAS A 12.7" HANDGUARD OPTION
Don't your fingers get blasted if you hold the gun close to the muzzle like that???
You don’t operate Jack, you LARP at best
I have a Mk12-ish 18" build with the Midwest handguard. Love it.
I also have a 14.5" build with the Atlas S-One handguard. Love that as well.
I also have a Mk18-ish 10.5" build with the PSA 9" handguard. Also looks and feels great.
To each their own.
Great video!
When he is “operating”…ok guy
That’s not the R one..
I have three of those rails as well, really like them. Feels good and has good anti-rotation.
I don't like the dimples on the rail. Geissele needs to release an 11.5 rail.
You’re gonna mount your laser behind the buttons?
This was very helpful. thank you.
You never showed the fit of hand guard and suppressor together.
All are good options.
That is not an R-One Rail. It is the Aero Precision Enhanced Handguard
Calling it a "rail gaurd" is killing me🤣🤣🤣
The midwest combat rail is fantastic, I've got it on my 11.5
Aeros handguard lengths are awful and don’t mate well with industry trends at all. Great choice!!
I’ve been looking for this exact video. Thanks man
Mid West Combat rails are nice rails……. If you ever are looking for a tank of a rail for a suppressed setup using lights and lasers look at the Ripcord Ind. LDR1 rails. I have one on my 12.5” build looks great and a tank, comes in at 11.75” for a seamless look
Handguard**
I thought 11.5 barrel is as long as you are "allowed" to go for a pistol before its OAL hits past 24"?
Nice subbed !!!!!!!
My current build is a 8” Ballistic Advantage barrel to a 9” Atlas S-one handguard (from BA) Barrel is recessed inside just enough to my liking. Flash can or linear comp will stick out perfect. Wish I can get a suppressor for it because it’s a 300blk, but in Illinois they are illegal🤦♂️
Thank you for this video. I was racking my brain trying to find a rail for my Aero 12.5. Ordering from midwest now
It looks great on the rifle, and I run my rifles the same way with a long handguard vs barrel lenght.
Good looking rail, I hope it treats you well.
The Geissele MK8 is my personal favorite handguard. The quality/durability makes up for the high price point. Will definitely be grabbing another for future builds.
Great video and comparison!
