My 516's 2 dimmest settings are totally useable with night vision, and not in a parking lot, but actually indoors with almost no light- like even when the nods are having trouble seeing. You can choose to deny it but I tell you it's true.

Note on the 553. Mine broke while using it on a stribog, internal mirror fell off (it was 11 years old, not faulting the optic) but due to it being out of production, factory repairs were not an option, but they did give me a half off coupon to sucker me back in

I think it was very rude to dismiss walmart testing the way you did.
After watching what my coworker went through with Eotech, I lost interest in them. They don't really stand behind their product, and when my coworkers 512 died after being shot maybe once or twice, he was told that it would cost 80 bucks for it to be fixed. That's a big no from me, and he said he's likely going to sell it, and buy a different optic from a company that actually stands behind what they put out.

Most of my issues from using such a thick and disgusting looking holographic sight is mostly mitigated by keeping both eyes open when shooting.
It's like they're saying, "OK. Everyone in the country already owns at least 1 gun, and won't buy another one ever. Let's make the most craziest reticle that looks like you need to be a calculus genius to make the most of it"

Obviously NOT a fan of: Trijicon/ ACOGS….OR Eotech(s). 2 of THE Best optics mnfrs in the industry. The mystery DEEPENS…I guess. Edited to add: ‘553’s..”VERY ugly”. Well THERE”S an opinion…imagine that. (My ‘ugly’ 553’s been going strong since ‘09 (at least) but it’s ugly..dang it!)
my astigmatism plays hell with holo sights and whenever I see how they are supposed to look on film I become jealous of all you people with normal shaped eyes.

I really don't care about brand names. These whole Trijicon, Eorech etc, is like women with different brands of pocketbooks. Idgaf who makes it. If it's good and fits my purpose, I want it. Especially if it's AFFORDABLE.
I think i have one of those eotechs that shift point of impact a few feet in really cold and really hot temperatures. I wonder if they will still replace it if i dont have the receipt.
