  1. Got a 48 year old SP1 that I bought new in 75 before AR's were popular, before most people even knew what they were. Still will drive tacks at 100 yards. Think I will Stick with Colt.

  2. When people are first getting into it I give a similar recommendation, and let them know how when I first got into it 4-5 years ago I bought first and researched later which ended up with me wasting money. (Did a bear creek upper / Anderson lower and had the bolt break within 500 rounds as well as the barrel extension and barrel nut come loose). I saved up instead of buying another cheapo and got a bcm, then built a lower and got a super duty upper after that. These two rifles have been beat to shit over the years and the most I’ve replaced is gas rings, ejector/extractor springs, and buffer springs. Thousands of rounds. You really do get what you pay for at least to an extent.

  3. Aero had 16", 14.5", and 10.5" blem uppers on sale last week for $286 or less. Two weeks ago I got a 16" chrome lined, heavy barrel blem upper for $318. A month ago i got a 16" stainless barrel upper with bcg, vg6 gamma brake and a breach charging handle on closeout for $363. In other words….sign up for Aeros deal emails and don't sleep on inexpensive builds. I reach for my FN chf PSA/Aero frankenrifle more often than the BCM that lives right beside it.

  4. Guys listen to me carefully… Get a PSA or like budget AR learn the gun and maintenance, then upgrade it. Buy a match barrel in .223 wylde and a long with a good affordable trigger like a ALG Defense trigger and that’s it…. Say you buy starting rifle for $500.00 then buy a match barrel for $250.00 and the Trigger for Sub-$100 then you have about $850.00 in a rifle that will be tough to beat…
