Can you change the geissele mk16 rail to the geissele mk14 or is the upper receiver only compatible with the mk16 because of the anti rotation feature.

I just learned the 16 and 12.5 inch barrels do not have the same gas length and gas port size compared to the ones on super duy, anyone can inform me what these differences do?
