Since the CMMG mags have that extra play, a lot like the M&P15-22 mags, thats got me wondering if the adhesive shims from Catch22 would help alleviate that issue for the CMMG mags as well.
This is one of the best video that I watched for the issue of CMMG V1 mag. It would be great to know what the product number of Gorilla tape is. I wasn't able to find one that you addressed on the video.
Thanks. So far this is the only video that talks about the cmmg barrel collar. I was confused what the collar was for. I already have the cmmg .22lr conversion and was looking at the cmmg dedicated barrel.
This is a fantastically detailed look at the totality of the system. I appreciate this and it has guided me to a few purchases which made my system work flawlessly. Thank you so much!
About a year ago I started researching on 22lr conversion kits, cmmg , all the different things required to make it work, after weeks writing things down on a tablet. I found the Tippmann Arms AR-M422 Pro all metal construction 1:16 an exact match to the 5.56 . My indoor range is only 25 yrds , I'm getting quarter size groups on the bench I'm very happy with the accuracy and they're magazine are easy to use and hold twenty five rds. I had a Holosun 403r 2moa w/holosun 3X magnifier. I've sense looked on Tippmann Arms website and didn't see this 16" carbine length rifle, all they have shown are the shorter Pistol length. Glad I got it when I did . I haven't had ONE failure of any kind in 600 rds so far, it really is the best M4-22 made at $559.00 It was made by Tippmann USA , there's videos of a target practicing game he came up with in the Midwest I think it's Indiana, this rifle he made for starter people like me to play that range game , happy shootn 🤠.
I made a lot of the same upgrades when I built a cmmg dedicated 22 lr pistol. One nice improvement since then is that the gen 2 22 lr cmmg magazines will activate the last round bolt hold open with the catch 22 bolt catch installed.
You can buy the Boonie packer insert and a S&W mag together your LRO function will work just fine.I have the CMMG mk4 .22lr and it functions just the same as the .556 rifle.
Great video sir! I'm just starting to build my own dedicated. . 22 AR and you pointed out some things that I would have had to have learned the hard way.
By far the BEST .22 set-up I’ve seen..not that I’ve really looked around much. I’ve been in the mid to HIGH-end AR game fir a long time and have only an older Umarex/Colt M4 .22 LR carbine that is..NOT that great but is still functionally reliable WITH the right ammo. Great vid!
Sir the best solution to your bolt hold open is Buy some Smith & Wesson 1522 magazines and a v1 catch from " Catch 22" it will give your rifle bullet open natively but you seem to be on top of it
You are so lucky you snagged one of those rtb dedicated barrels. They've been out of stock forever and now are completely gone from their website. I had to buy a Bear Creek Arsenal upper instead

Great video old man.
Getting started on my own 22lr AR build.

I’ve got 75% of those parts laying around. Thank you for helping with my next build!

Nice 👍

just got a 9 inch beyer barrel for mine and i love it, gun went from 7 to 4.5 lbs with a shorter handguard of course but is also more accurate
If you haven't already found it, you should buy the McFadden Lightning loader. Turns loading these mags into a simple 10 second process.
Good info thanks for posting

This is the most informative video on this topic I've watched! Thank you very much!

If you buy Kriss defiance bolt catch you can get last bolt hold open with new Cmmg mags .
I'd say this is one of the better videos I've watched on a built. Thanks!

Why didn't you do an Aero upper and lower?
tippmann Amrs Speed Loader works on these magaziones.. here is a link
I jus switch my 556 bcg out and slide in the 22 conversion, it’s awesome! Crazy I load those mags 1 handed at times.

Very informative video. Thoughts on the Tippmann 22 ARs?
I built a similar kit but as a pistol.
