First, it is only a lunatic who would say people should have the right to own guns. They shouldnt. There is no reason that in a sane society people should be able to walk into a department store and buy guns. Period. No guns for anyone. I've always said that the mental health issue should be secondary when it comes to this issue. Once you can identify that they have certain mental health issues. And that they shouldn't have a gun then you can work on the actual institutions. So we're not dismissing the mental health idea But it should always be secondary. Like it's still on the radar. But ultimately what really needs to be done with here is The easy access to the guns. Also at least with this case. I think he already was racist even before he got into the mental institution. Most americans do agree that they should have background checks or tighter background checks and banning assault rifle since those are the ones that are killing people. But then this incident goes one step further and it's a hate crime based on manifestos. I also heard that he was a part of a mental institution. My thoughts on that is that those same republicans are gonna say mental health is the problem When clearly this guy had a problem even before that! But here's the problem, There's another section part of that second amendment which specifically states a WELL REGULATED militia. It's literally the first thing they write on the constitution. What it's basically saying is that those people in said Well regulated militia are the ones that have the right to bear their arms. And I don't know if it's me and common sense for anything But those groups arent being formed At least not in my generation But even if they were it's not just any militia has to be well regulated. And for certain, mass shooters don't count cause they're not forming a group to defend the state. So the The republicans have been misinforming everybody for the past over thirty years on this. This is where the gun conversation needs to start. Because if you're going to misinterpret a law in order to allow people to get killed, Then you are the problem in society. I read this with the understanding of what the country had at the time of writing this.
First! We did NOT have a standing Army at the time this was written, Thus necessitated the Volunteering Civilians to keep and bear their own arms for when such a call of duty were to befall them.
You know what that sounds like? I'll wait… That's right. The Reserves! It sounds EXACTLY like what the current United States Reserves role is.
Did you know that not every person in the military is fully geared to the teeth? Including some of the Reserves. Most jobs don't even have Firearms as a regular part of their job.

Second! The Founding Fathers who wrote voted and affirmed these Amendments had simply had enough of the Crowns tyranny by that point. Why would they make an Amendment like this if they knew weapons like AR-15's M-16's and other extremely fast firing weapons would be manufactured. Doing so with this Amendment and its current "Ambiguity" would nothing short of objective insanity. As they would be the DIRECT cause of trading one problem for another more difficult problem to get rid of.

Lastly; The 2nd Amendment was put into the Bill of Rights as a measure to make sure that there was a way to provide for the common defense of the nation through a volunteer system similar in nature to the Reserves. And anyone that calls themselves a patriot by saying things like: "It's what the Founding Fathers Wanted" /or/ "Fight the tyranny" … Well put plainly and bluntly. they are nothing more than raving lunatics that would rather see fellow Americans gunning each other down in some sort of Hunger games where only the crazies go hunting. And everyone else is just a victim of someone else's complete and utter willful ignorance.

An automatic or even semi-automatic firearm in general has NO PLACE and NO BUSINESS being in the hands of a civilian. They were designed for the express purpose of fighting WARS and KILLING. I live in florida, and background checks are made. But the constitution says you can carry guns, and the law says you must be convicted of a felony to take those rights away. An arrest means nothing when cops bring false charges.
