How To Stand Shooting AR-15s

Noir Skills and Drills is a new training series I’m starting here on the channel.

I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to attend various training courses, but I understand that not everyone has the same ability to attend these courses like I do.

Therefore, Skills and Drills is my way of sharing the information I learn from these courses with you all.

The skills and drills featured in this series are not intended to be the ultimate guide on how to do things, but rather a means to learn different techniques that you can incorporate into your own training as you see fit.

Today’s Skill & Drill is from my time at the Haley Strategic D5 Carbine Course, where the instructors break down their technique on the best stance to adopt when shooting a rifle quickly while engaging multiple targets.

  1. I don’t fully agree with this technique because I think it teaches you not to move and will therefore make you and easier by keeping you on the “X” I get the rifle holding part but standing completely still while shooting at multiple targets ehh not so much!

  2. Thanks for mentioning the difficulties for firearms training. Too few schools close enough, very few student slots, most shooting schools have student slots that fill up a year before the class. All the classes shown on YouTube are up to 1,800 miles away. Double that distance for a round trip to get back home. All for a two day class. If you are just a regular working man training is not possible. One class was in New York State. With all the New York anti gun laws you would be insane to go to New York. That's why I won't go to Sig Academy in New Hampshire. You have to cross New York and Massachusetts to get to Sig Academy. Forget that noise.

  3. As one FBI Instructor(a true Patriot) taught me, if you almost imagine curling your toes to grab in to the surface, you will tend to put more forward effort into your foot. (Sounded weird but it worked.)

  4. I wish they had taught us these kind of techniques in the Army. I was a Combat Engineer (12B), and it was always disappointing how little range time we actually got. Most of the shooting we did was from the pone, foxhole, or kneeling positions. We did do a little CQB training a couple times a year, but never any rifle drills like this. Thanks for the great video!

  5. Excellent, love training videos. (Cannot always afford blowing through the ammo to train, paycheck to paycheck guy here) ..But, as long as these old legs, knees and feet can hold on.. they shall protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America.

  6. Fine but when you transition you should not be moving with your arms, you should be shifting with your torso/waist/hips. This method of teaching in the video really breaks down when you have targets outside of the comfort zone of just moving your arms to each target. These guys are hacks.

  7. It's not about round counting. bro it's about round placement put two rounds in each Target. Then 2 rounds two different places in the in the third target. then work your way back .

  8. Thanks for starting these “how to” videos, I’m really looking forward to them. Luckily we have many training facilities here in Phoenix.
Also due to your video review about the DDM4V7 Pro, I recently took delivery of mine. Keep doing what your doing 👍. Thanks again.
