@TFBTV and @JamesReeves are at @Brownells with @theguncollective covering #GunCon2023. In this episode, James speaks with Stern Defense about their innovative new quick-detach AR-15 stock: The RAB-AD (Rapid Attach Buttstock Adapter). This stock comes off your AR-15 and goes back on in one second, allowing your rifle to be stowed in much smaller and flatter spaces than a regular AR-15 or even a folding-stock model AR-15, all while using your same buffer tube hardware. And, the kit costs a little over $100.

  1. So it’s $150 bucks to still have to take the upper off the lower to get any space saving. Why would this even matter haha πŸ˜‚ neat idea, great price, gimmick in all reality tho πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ name one time this would actually be useful??? Other than flying, at that rate you could have just checked the bag you’d have to anyway and save $100 bucks Lol πŸ˜‚

  2. Finally a company not blatantly up charging to the magical $499+ range lol. I mean sure its untested by Youtubers yet. (cuzz of course thats what matters) but but lets be real if this is $139… why does adding hinge add $300? just my personally take on folding/removal stocks. price vs what they are just doesnt add up imo.

  3. Yeah, I’m not sure why channels like this cover an item like this when obviously the ATF made this illegal by proxy. Notably since the host refuses to get political and punted on the political question at the recent Gun con.
So WHY THE FUCK COVER THIS CAUSE ITS NOT GOING TO BE ALLOWED FOR CIVILIAN USE.

  5. Was thinking about getting a couple of these for bolt guns I have that use AR stocks, but don’t need a functioning buffer assembly. I assume it would work fine without the buffer, spring, and extension.

  6. I think we've reached peak buffer tube fatigue.

If you don't like the Ar-15 architecture don't get an AR-15.
The buffer tube was solved with the collapsible stock. Everything else is adding too much weight, complexity and proprietary parts to be worth the trade-off.
