Midwest Industries Alpha Series Rifle Review

Join me as I take my AK-47 to the next level with Midwest Industries’ Alpha Series.

In this review, I’ll share my experience with these innovative accessories that combine the modularity of an AR-15 with the timeless appeal of the AK-47.

Midwest Industries sent me a Palmetto State AK-47 equipped with parts from their Alpha Series line, and I was thrilled.

The Alpha Series folding stock seamlessly integrates with the AK-47, providing adjustability and a sleek appearance. The railed top cover allows for closer optics mounting, ensuring a solid lockup and zero retention.

The standout feature is the AK Alpha Series M-LOK™ Handguard, with numerous sections for customization. I added a Surefire scout light, pressure pad, and Aeroknox foregrip, and still had rail space for more accessories. These parts fit perfectly, and no gunsmithing is required.

Join me in exploring how Midwest Industries’ Alpha Series enhances the AK-47, combining functionality and style.

  1. All of us real ak guys are laughing right now at all the newbies. Actual real ak 47s have not been made since 1959. From 1960 on they were called akm's which stands for ak modernized. If you like or want to get into ak's, then you need the vickers guide to Kalashnikov volume 1. The book covers all 762×39 variants and even has the trial guns that were presented to Joseph Stalin…

  2. Midway Industries took a $600 dollars AK, put $100 worth of plastic accessories and sell the whole thing for $1,200? 😂😂 people must be stupid to pay that much just for the furniture.

You're better off getting a Zastava, adding the same furniture and you still have some money left

  3. I've never understood the reluctance (and attitude) people have toward modernizing/accessorizing AKs. Yes, there are idiotic examples taken to Bubba extremes, but we're talking functional modifications as shown here.

But, it's like some want to keep them in the 50's for some perverse reason. The first AR didn't have rails, yet it's fine when you add rails to it. Scroll through some images of how GRU operators have tricked out their AKs (yes, some have AR stocks on them), and then tell me AKs can't be functional on the modern battlefield.

  4. Love it! Hope to do a custom AK soon when I move out of NJ. PSA and Arsenal we extremely awesome to talk to at Shot Show Media Range Day 2022. I will definitely be talking to both when i move. 1 from each.

  5. Colion has very information legal perspectives and arguments. The gun tube side of things really lacks. He does virtually no firearm research and bases everything on look and feel. Aesthetics are cool, don't get me wrong, but there is so much more to a gun than how cool it looks.

  6. No, it doesn't make it better than an AR, it just puts in the same league. The AR is the most versatile platform ever created. Dont get me wrong, the AK is amazing and i wouldn't hesitate to take one into a fight, but i cant just swap the upper and have a completely different rifle in a different chamber. The AK is also not capable of the same accuracy. You can build an AR to be a half MOA menace while even the most expensive AK is 2-4 MOA.
