Ever notice that anti AR people are women and wimpy men that could NEVER be able to use a firearm ( of any kind ) to protect you or others. They depend on ARMED private security ( paid by tax dollars ) or police ( if they eventually decide to show up )..I'd rather PROTECT MYSELF and my family.

Semi automatic rifles has always been around since the sixties. It isn't the problem for mass shootings. Why now, single parent household, cut back in mental health care, both parents working no one watching the kids. To politicians banning thes guns they believe it's a quick fix. Truely love your family, requires effort & time but that should reduce mass shootings.

What's unusual is someone telling us how we should protect ourselves and with what.
I heard that one bullet from an AR-15 can cut numerous soldiers in half, leaving dozens of legs standing on the battlefield, and that the extendable stock and foregrip are what causes this.

The SOLE purpose of the 2a is to keep the population armed for war… period.
It's "shall not be infringed", not "shall not be infringed except if it's dangerous or unusual". There's an awful lot of gum-flapping going on about a very simple law. Any infringement, including regulation, taxation, licensing/training requirements, or any other ownership restriction, of any part of any arm – firearm or not – is illegal. Does your law regard arms at all? It's illegal.
Additionally, this whole "weapon of war" thing is facially ridiculous. The entire reason the Second Amendment was penned was to protect The People's ability to defend themselves from their own government. To that end, military/government-grade weaponry is an absolute necessity and is more an endorsement than an indictment.
