How to install the Geissele SSA-E Trigger in your AR15

Here is a video that I made on how to install the Geissele SSA-E trigger in your AR 15 military rifle. Learning how to install an AR trigger is an important part of gunsmith training and overall weapons training. Understanding weapon engineering is what allows the operator to develop and progress. The Geissele super semi-automatic enhanced trigger is a high quality two stage trigger group. It reduces the trigger pull to 3.5 lbs in comparison to the standard 5lb GI trigger group. This trigger is a great upgrade for any AR15. In the video, the trigger installation is demonstrated on a Stag arms model 3. For more firearm training videos and reviews, check out my channel.

  1. Nice video. I actually don’t use the slave pin. It doesn’t have to be used and the trigger can still be installed easily. To those that don’t know, Geissle triggers are the best. I have the SSA-E and the SD3G with the flat bow. Both are outstanding. I also have two CMC triggers and they are really good as well but not on the same level as Geissle.

  2. Thank you very much. Very concise and very clear instructions. I followed your instructions to install the G2S trigger. Exactly the same. My trigger did not come with a slave pin so it was trickier to get the holes aligned until I decided to use the smooth end of a 9/64 drill bit. I still had to align the holes but was much easier to push the drill bit through and then push it back out with the pin. The included paper instructions were confusing to a first timer. I was a bit confused on spring orientation shown in the included instructions until I realized the images they show are of the springs as they would be after installation. Your video showed clearly how the springs should go. New trigger owners do not be afraid to try this. It may take you longer than the video but it isn’t rocket surgery. I used a vice to hold the receiver and that really helped when pushing the components in under spring tension.

  3. With the help of this video. I was able to successfully install my new trigger today . The video showed good closeups and details as you were performing the installation.Excellent video .

  4. I assembled my lower, then bought this trigger. Asked my local gun store how much they charge to install and quoted me $75. Thank you, gave me the confidence to do it myself.

  5. You sure made that look easy. The trigger went as shown but the hammer sure ain't as easy as you made it look. Went ok after putting on a left hand mechanic glove. Thanks. My first trigger install is done now I may put one in that I've had laying around for over a year because of lack of self confidence
