Earlier this week, the House Committee on Federal and State Affairs passed House Bill 2412, a bill that eliminates state agency fees for concealed carry permits, reducing the fee total to the applicant’s county sheriff fee of $32.50. Attorney General Kris Kobach has stated his support for this bill, which was introduced by Rep. Rebecca Schmoe (R-59). Please contact your representative today and ask them to SUPPORT HB 2412.

Kansas is a constitutional carry state where law-abiding citizens are able to exercise their right to carry a firearm for self-defense without first having to obtain government permission.  Kansans may still choose to get a carry permit for its additional benefits, such as reciprocity in other states, being able to present it for quick verification of eligibility, and being exempt from having to undergo a federal background check for every firearm purchase from a dealer.

Again, please contact your representative today and urge them to SUPPORT HB 2412, which eliminates most of the financial burden of carry fees for law-abiding citizens.
