A 1/4 inch clevis pin also works instead of buying the tool. And it only costs $2 at home depot.
I used a pair of tweezers that came in the Accu-punch hammer and AR-15 pin punch set.
I always get a kick when they say it's so hard to put the detent in with the spring all you have to do is use a toothpick push the spring in take another toothpick from the side of the receiver in that tiny little hole use the point of it to hold the spring while you put the detent in and the pivot pin pull the toothpick out of the spring allowing it to put tension on the detent and pivot pin it's really super easy and if a toothpick doesn't work use a sewing needle to hold the spring down through that teeny hole
Detent installation tool, starting punch, rubber mallet. I put this thing together using some light duty grease and a metal handled knife and didn’t scratch up the finish. Idk if I should feel proud or lucky
Thought for sure this one would get Larry to cuss.
I just used a feeler gauge worked so easy
If the pivot pin has a through-hole, why not use it the same way as the special tool? It seems the pivot pin is designed just like the special tool.
I used a razor blade
1/4" Clovis from Lowes works too
Does midway sell the tool used in this video?
Not near impossible, if you do not have a tool check this out
