I’d been curious about the OLIGHT BALDR S model and how it compared to the STREAMLIGHT TLR-8G. Very similar size, big price difference.
• Olight is USB-rechargeable, cheaper to power, but not “field-fillable” if you run out of power.
• Streamlight uses common 123A batteries, easily re-powered up.
•Olight has higher claimed lumens (800), but powers down quickly to protect against overheating.
• Streamlight has lower (600) claimed lumens, but no thermal power-down.
•Olight has an adjustable rail mounting system that allows it to slide for better fitment. Streamlight has a lower-profile, snag-free mounting system.
Results of who is brighter, has better throw and spill, etc., brighter and clearer laser, etc… you can see for yourself in the video.
My personal observations:
•Olight has a whiter-cast LED light that is wider and brighter.
•Streamlight has a yellower cast, but is almost as bright at a claimed-lesser lumen level.
•Olight green laser isn’t as bright and large as the Streamlight.

I paid for these lights, no free product here. (Although I wouldn’t turn down any LEP torches and long-throw/superbright lights to review!
