ATF Bans Buffer Tubes & Accessories In Brace Rule

So if you have an AR pistol such as a 5.56 and it needs the buffer tube to function your ok until you swap in a .22lr conversion… Which doesn't need the buffer tube to function.

I have seen a dozen videos and most states buffer tube are ok., just no additional material.

I'm curious how preventing "shouldering" helps with public safety. Is it because you're less likely to hit your target and more likely to hit some random bystander if you can't properly aim? Is it because removing the shouldering device from your dangerously concealable 14" barrel AR pistol makes it less concealable? Do they explain how public safety is enhanced in their 290 page ruling?

What about the buffer tube with the adjustable holes on it or will that need replacing to a smooth one

We definitely know they got and illegal registration so if you built your own lower filed it as an other they may come a-knockin if they can get warrants then catalog everything you own

So if I have an ar platform bought as a pistol with a brace and remove the brace but the buffer tube which is needed for the bolt to cycle is still at the rear of of the pistol…does that meet their requirements where it won’t need to be registered as an sbr and can still stay as a pistol?

You need to send the information for your stuff to the ATF for approval… which is automatically declined if they do not approve it in a short matter of time, after which they say they will prosecute you for being the criminal who bought a legal product.

I don't have an AR Pistol but if I did I'd just ignore this. ATF can't search my house without a warrant. If you're in a self defense situation just don't use that rifle. But if it's your only option it's still better to be in jail for using an unregistered "SBR" then dead. /shrug

The ATF doesn't have the authority to make laws. That's the job of Congress. Why are we even putting up with this tyranny?

I don't agree with restricting firearms (shall not be infringed, so spare me your screeching when you answer the question) but what are the benefits of a shoulderable pistol? Why not just get a rifle? It seems like the combination of two disparate weapons system with none of the benefits.

Ar pistols can't work without the buffer tube so that makes no sense.
