Time for non compliance
Don’t SBR your pistol ! It’s a trap! The 88 day rule will get you , you won’t be approved in 88 days, once you go past it , you’ll be in possession of an illegal SBR and will be raided and prosecuted as a felony!
If braces are going away, then I still want a tube on the back. The tubeless Dissent seems like a move in the opposite direction: absolutely nothing to rest my cheek on.

That flat backplate your dissent has? That 'still' has "the ability" to be placed against one's shoulder.
May not be 'practical' but it "has the ability" to be.
The ATF wants to consider everything with less than a 16in barrel on it as an SBR.
That is the entire reason they are trying to change the deciding factor away from 'intent' to the ultra-vague terminology of "ability to".

The ATF is saying that you're a felon now, so what do you think they will do as soon as they receive pictures of your pistol, fingerprints, and all of your information?

You can put a pistol tube on it but it still has surface area to shoulder. They wrote ANY shouldering surface is not allowed
I like the CMMG Dissent line.
Would be nice if they come out with a Wll-Not-Comply line that is also Fully Semi Automatic with a 30 mag clipazine, and the extra super deadly Brace attachment.
I don't concern myself with ATF rules. They don't write law. What they do is side with leftists against constitutional rights and then Ruby Ridge people who become inconvenient for them.
After 88 days, if your application is not accepted, it automatically gets rejected and thrown out. Then you have a problem.

atf pretty much says any surface area on a rearward extension that isn't needed to function the firearm will be treated as a shouldering device – don't set you customers up for failure.
I wouldn't buy one without the brace on it, my opinion they are crappy looking. Maybe some first time buyers will go for it in hopes that they could retrofit an accessory brace on it.
Rules are not laws so break them
Dissent would be the answer IF it came in 300 BLK that I could suppress, otherwise it's just an ugly sub pistol.
But the wording also states that even a buffer system and surface area still qualifies it as a sbr thus having to register it. So even having just a buffer tube creates the buffer system and a surface area. This is in regards to the banshee
