The humble AR-15 / M16 carry handle is often looked down upon by competition and target shooters, but for applications beyond range duty this old school arrangement is convenient as hell. Besides looking neat and retro, carry handles offer convenience and still an excellent set of iron sights.

Just wish I could find a single carry handle. Seems like ever fudd and boomer buys them in bulk and forgets where in their yard they burried them
Carry it like a businessman
bro you're jawline could break fucking steel wtf
Cut my teeth on the A1 in the US ARMY. STILL SHOOT WITH IRONS AT 68 YRS OLD.
What brand of ar15 is that? Or is that an actual m16a2?
I used to HATE carrying handles but now I love them
Hell yea. Dude went and shot 10 deer that day.
I hear you. I'm sitting on my land enjoying the cool air w a 604 type w a2 furniture within reach
This video has aged very well, a lot retro builds around now
The best part about carry handles is that you can still mount optics onto them if you so choose.
Over a decade ago, military instructors would yell at you for using a carry handle as a carry handle… They'd make comments like "Your gun is not a purse!" Never understood why.
I love the carry handle. It’s easier to carry the ar in one hand and a 30 pack in the other. 🍺
In the ARMY: You aren't supposed to hold it by the carry-handle. Only by the grip or frame. Sadly, we don't use carry-handles anymore or as much.
Tossing your weapon in the back of the side x was not cool or necessary, just jackass stupid.
Hey, this guy was laid back, relaxed, and pleasant to listen to, as opposed to the usual TactiTard cool BS. So, I guess we know why he’s not around anymore, Lol.
I think things got so out of control with optics , and short barrels that people are going back to the roots. I've always been a 20" barrel carry handle guy. What more do you need? The AR-15 A1, A2, A4 are all perfectly fine rifles.
To me thats the classic look ! I love it
Iron sights all the way, good enough for the best shooters in the past, then good enough for me.
I once heard an Iraq veteran talk about how soldiers were trained with iron sights before the transition to optics, what he said came down to when you are trained with iron sights, shooting at mid range really does not warrant advanced optics, and when the army made soldiers use optics he threw a hissy fit because he was fine with good ol iron sights
6 years later, the Gucci AR community is putting their optics on carry handle height $250 mounts for the NODs that they don’t have.
Yo could also get a rail for the carry handle and put a red dot sight on it like seen in black hawk down which is what the delta force were rocking back in the 90’s
I want to build an AR that actually had a decent chance in a end of the world scenario so far I'm specifically leaning towards a carry handle set up probably on a pistol set up
I do agree with the open sight. They are just as fast as a red dot
I have an A2 clone coming in the mail, and I'm a sucker for the 80s aesthetic. It'll fit perfectly with my wood clad SLR107R AK.
I like carry handles and basic stocks because they remind me of muh M16s. I also favor those simple, effective sights.
What’s a good ar-15 that comes with a carry handle like bcm and I know colt has them I was thinking a bushmaster dissipator North Hollywood shoot out!!!🤯🔫👍🏼
I grew up in the 90’s, the a2 will always hold a special place in my safe. Watching movies like Black hawk down. Courage under fire and others plus games like operation flashpoint and All those gulf war videos of troops filling Kuwait all carrying an a2. It mores nostalgia to me. But I find the nose to charging handle Method of shooting uncomfortable.
Nothing is sexier than an M16A1 with a 20 round mag
Amen, well said, well done.
What's up with throwing the gun down repeatedly? Novice!
I like carry handle bc of call of duty
I have several rifles, some with optics.
However, my go to rifles if chaos ever rules the land is my 20 inch A1AR-15 and my AK.
You were ahead of your time
amazing rifle
