  1. Absolutely Sprinco 5 coil without the O-ring…..I was chewing brass and deleted the O with a Wilson Combat CS extra power spring with a 10.5" mid-length unsuppressed. There are many companies who offer the beefy spring and they are the only way I've been running all my AR platforms chambered in 5.56/.223…..Very good video….Hat off to you for making this…..Hope people watch and learn…..

  2. FYI, BCM recommends the use of this Oring with barrels less then 14.5 and all 300 ACC BLK. The reason is that that are prone to over-gassing because of shorter gas systems. Even then, I only use them if I have extraction issues.

  3. Hoping this solves my problem! I just did an AR10 build with all Aero Precision components and it sometimes doesn't feed. Also, every 4th or so round, I'm not sure what's happening but the new round gets stuck going in to battery and leaves a nice dent where the bottle neck occurs. I saved the rounds hoping to extract the bullet and powder out of them to use for reloading but was told not to try to shoot it because of the damage to the casing. At $1 a round for range ammo currently, I'm going to salvage as much as I can!

  4. So nice to see a "real" 20-inch A2 style rifle out there, no pic rail top, lighter, slimmer integral carry handle and sights… just makes this middle-aged shooter go "Aaaaaahh, that's what I like." 😉
I just found an old slickside pre-A1 style rifle (think SP1) and I'm basking in the 1 in 12 twist, chrome bore, perfectly balanced glory of it! The entire rifle is lighter than my "M-Forgery."
    Peace.

  5. Just had an extractor pin shatter opened it up and it had the o ring. I’ve never had one. Seems like it risks too much ridgidity. I have a pistol setup, but I also have a heavy bolt and a higher tension spring. So I’ll assume the higher gas pressure is less an issue than wearing out the extractor. Thanks for the feedback

  6. This might be another issue or just FUD, but I’ve heard that these O-rings might crack, split, or otherwise fail when the temp drops below -20°F. Not that it happens a lot, but I do live in Wisconsin, so Simo Häyhä-esque conditions aren’t impossible. What are your thoughts on that? Also, my main rifle has a 20” bbl and a rifle-length gas system.

  7. I have run into issues with excess extractor tension much more often than having too little. Iv have found that either a 5 coil or a 4 coil Springco extractor spring with incert only is the best way to go about it. I currently have a 16” mid length Criterion barrel build that had issues with the 5 coil so I put the 4 coil in there and it ran great. If you’re chewing up brass and or denting the hell out of you’re brass then you probably have too much tension if you’re hun isn’t over gassed as hell. The standard spring with the incert and O ring is almost always too much tension unless you’re running a MK18. That’s my experience anyway.

  8. sprinco 5 coil extractor spring without the o-ring is the best setup by far, those springs last far longer than any other spring and far, far longer than the o-ring. and for overgassed systems like short ar's that extract under higher than normal pressure it's a great reliability upgrade too

  9. Got a new upper in 6.5 Grendel. Having issues loading new round and also ejecting to the 1:00. Bolt face is practically solid brass from account of all the brass shavings. Realized new rounds when in the chamber had issue with extractor clamping around ring. Removed o ring and bolt goes to battery much easier now
