Update from this video –

I finally had a chance to test out the CMMG V2 magazines and see how they would work with the Catch22. Overall the only ways I found to make it work was to either run a 15-22 magazine spring, or completely remove the bolt catch spring so there’s no resistance on the catch.

  1. I recently bought a Cmmg conversion kit for my ar which works great. Then I started seeing your videos for your catch 22. I purchased your gen 1 catch and installed it into my aero upper which is threaded instead of a roll pin. I can’t seem to get your catch to work I have the newer version of the Cmmg conversion kit that comes with the new mags. Even when I try and manipulate the catch by hand it will not hold the bolt open. I look inside of the mag well and it looks like it is close but isn’t holding on to the bolt any suggestions?

  2. Good news. I got some GSG-5 mag springs off HKParts and they happen to be almost dimensionally identical to the CMMG mag springs. They’re stiffer and able to work the bolt catch.

Manual cycling demo posted on my channel, live fire test to follow later this week.
