  1. I bought 550 box of Winchester 22 hollow point and was surprised to see they were packed in loose bulk. I had many misfires and thought it might be my Marlin lever action, which never did this before. Your review is very insightful and I will now use ICC. I also shot many rounds of old amo 50 year old and never had a misfire with many manufactures. I guess times have changed.

  2. My phoenix 22 lr hand gun repeatedly misfiring, i have tried many different ammunition brands but it doesn't help! I sent it to phoenix arms company and they said nothing was wrong with it! What can i do? What can i try? Help please, i haven't fired it much before this started happening.

  3. I live in Canada and yesterday it was very cold and I had about 5 misfires within 200 rounds.
I checked each round and the firing pin worked 100% but no firing.
Does the cold affect .22lr ?
ps: the rounds were CCI Standards

  4. Don't buy any American Eagle red box ammunition. I bought two bricks and it sucks. I only use it for my bolt action .22 lr. A lot of miss-fires but also maybe too weak because it doesn't cycle well on semiautos. I don't have any unusual failures with any other ammo, Remington, Aguila or Winchester.

  5. remington golden bullets, 4 to 5 duds per brick on average, I like them best because they seem to be the most accurate, federals have very sensitive primers, I will get a 2-shot burst out of my ruger mk1 on occasion, and if you throw them on the pavement they will go off too

  6. I found NEW 22 mags. Shot in a new NAA Ranger. Many misfires, I rotated them, till they went off. I took the empty cases home to inspect. I compared to CCI's. They were about .006" smaller on the rim dia. And also on the rim length. Caused the bullet to go in that much farther into the cylinder. So, the hammer couldn't strike the rim deep enough to fire it. Very obvious LITE strike. Even a half strike sometimes. I'm a retired tool&die maker. I know how machines wear & fail, so I won't mention the ammo co. Name. Get some calipers. Check stuff.

  7. THE .22LR AMMO MISFIRES IS BECAUSE YOU PEOPLE BUY CHEAP, ILL MADE PSTOLS/RIFLES LIKE; S+W, RUGER, GLOCK, ETC. – IF YOU WOULD BE WILLING TO THROW DOWN YOUR MONEY ON A QUALITY FIREARM LIKE; OWL HEAD, RJ REVOLVERS, ETC., YOUR EXPERIENCES WITH THE .22LR WEAPONS WOULD BECOME A REAL JOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GOOD VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. Saw the commercial for the Axil. AVOID. Sound quality is terrible and the unit is prone to uncontrollable feedback when you touch an ear bud or turn the hearing protection on and hit the volume up button only 2 or 3 times. A great idea that needs a lot of work.

  9. That is NOT how rimfire cartridge cases are primed. A “blob” (for lack of a better term) of fairly liquid primer compound is dropped into the open case, and then the case is spun so that centrifugal force drives the primer compound into the small gap in the rim.

Agree completely that badly primed cases are largely the culprit, although firearms maintenance (cleanliness and wear) are also contributing factors.
