Just picked up two options for the buffer tube on my AR pistol build (along with several other parts). Which one do you think I should use?

where do you get it
I just bought the one that's padded so I dont deal with the laws changing about braces all the time
S&W model 60
10 year old video… Yankee bought the Yankee Hill parts just because they had Yankee in the name..
SBA3/ SBA4 [ be a felon like the rest of us ] 😆 ! ! !
Can you shoot an AR without a buffer tube installed?
So that BCG is chrome? Not NB? I haven't seen chrome ones before.
wtf did i just see
Grow a fucking pair you spineless shit. Which one do you think I should choose??? You make me sick. Its your fucking gun so you fucking choose which turd you want.
go to home depot and get a little armaflex refrigeration tube insulation. cut it to fit over the threads. washers painted with bbq grill paint or painted radiator hose. black shrink tubing or even black tape all work well. nice build.
Build, lol, you assemble an ar-15… You BUILD an ak-47.
If you end up never resting your cheek on the foam, go back to the rock river. If you do used the foam, keep it. Neither are horrible. One is cleaner looking and the other is useful.
Look a brand KAK for your tube and use a sig brace 15
I just finished a 300 Blackout Pistol Build…I went with the buffer tube w/foam pad.
does it matter what kind of buffer you go with can you use a normal ar one or does it have to be heavy i plan on building a 10.5" pistol and i hear that they have more kick because of the shorter travel
Just found out that the new buffing tube is longer than the original one. Lwrc says I need the standard carbine spring and buffer. problem solve! thank to those who chimed in.
What he said below.
What he said below.
That is what I did.
if the tube is cross threaded (off center) however slight the bcg will not cycle properly causing it to jam in the tube. put on the stock tube and measure how much the spring sticks out without the retainer pin, then do the same with the new tube if there is more spring showing with the old tube then the new one is possibly the issue.
I don't understand what you mean by Off Centered? please elaborate?
Rock river, put foam from the other one on
You didn't get it in a little off center did you?
Today i changed my buffer tube with a little longer from the stock LWRC pistol AR. Went to the range and thot a few times til the Bolt carier keeps getting stuck back. Is it because the spring needs to be change for longer buffer tuube? please help
I wouldn't use either of those buffers. I prefer Charmin to put my cheek on.
Q: If a person has a pistol and an attachable shoulder stock, does this constitute possession of an NFA firearm?
Yes, unless the barrel of the pistol is at least 16 inches in length (and the overall length of the firearm with stock attached is at least 26 inches). However, certain stocked handguns, such as original semiautomatic Mauser “Broomhandles” and Lugers, have been removed from the purview of the NFA as collectors’ items.

I like the padded one it looks a lot better probably feels better on the cheak also
the lower must Start out life as a PISTOL!! if it was a rifle you can not make a pistol with it. always best to start out pistol and then build a rifle
Liking the one with foam padding.
I would use the buffer tube that has the padding .
I'm looking into ordering a RRA pistol tube. Did you have any problem with the buffer retainer pin and spring since it appears you can't fine tune the installation with a castle nut? Thanks in advance.
I just realized that this video is quite old. Ooops.
I am actually building a 7.5 AR pistol as well. I went with the Phase 5 Tactical pistol buffer tube which looks identical to the one you have with the foam padding. I am waiting on my Rainier Arms upper (Back ordered) to come in and will be doing a video review. Keep us posted on your build please. Thanks.
Personally, I would go with the foam covered tube.
You can legally go down but not back up.
Which buffer and spring do you use? Is it a standard carbine one or something specific for a pistol?
Go with the one your husband likes. Nice survival bracelet.
Do you have a WMA (wild live management area) near by? I have one less than an hour from me now and after we move it'll be less than half an hour. I have plans for a family and friends gun and bbq day this fall when the heat breaks. Anyway WMAs are usualy great for shooting and you are not limited in ammo other than no tracer rounds so with a good sized group and the time you can spend there it is definitely cheaper than a range.
That was my choice as well.
Yeah as far as I know, I dont have a range close enough to shoot at but I have a cabin a few hours away in PA where I can take it. As for the upper, I was looking at 7.5 to later make it a SBR. What lengths have you gone with? (Penis length is optional)
They are fun to build. I just wish I could find a place locally to shoot it.
I just ordered a Mega GTR lower for my first ever build. Im very excited. Im going the AR15 pistol route as well.
Check out my California Legal AR Pistol Video. I just went with a standard length buffer tube and carbine buffer…with a CAA cheekrest and some velcro..
