  1. Is Mil spec the best? Absolutely not. Will the parts out perform the average shooter? Absolutely.
Let’s be real most people aren’t missing shots because they don’t have the slightly more expensive, slightly higher end shit. They’re missing because they don’t practice enough… but of course nobody wants to admit that to themselves so it has to be the gun’s fault XD all I’m saying for the average gun owner look at the cost of the next upgrade spend that amount on ammo and you’d see a better improvement/return on investment.

  2. It's the mismatch of commercial detachable carry handle with F FSB or Milspec detachable carry handle with A2 FSB that is cause for concern because either condition will prevent zeroing to Military M16 Reduced Course shooting needs.

  3. There is a difference between military grade and military spec military spec simply means that each component will fit together the way it’s supposed to across the board military grade means that usually the lowest bidder is the one that makes it you can get mil spec that’s better than mil grade my second AR was built mil spec but definitely had top quality parts. Unless you know what you are doing and have a set of calipers to dial in all your parts so that the tolerances are the same building a build that’s not based on a standard specification tends to be built with loose tolerances

  4. Definition of Mil-Spec: Measure with Micrometer, mark with Chalk, cut with axe. An Elephant is a mouse built to Mil-Spec.

Actually, the Mil-Spec item, if it has passed the testing, will be much more expensive. The Company that built it must maintain testing records for the life of the item plus a few years. Sometimes requiring destruction of many devices to prove tolerances (Temp/Pressure/interchangeability/….)

  5. The only problem with using the term mil-spec is that milspec means the minimal quality allowed so as long as it meets minimum (+ or -) is good enough.
You can purchase two mil-spec rifles and one with you great with tight groups and Flawless function, and the other one could shoot patterns instead of groups and have all kinds of malfunctions.
And I realize that in this case they mean features and interchangeability but again that's only the minimum.

  6. Mil-Spec is the vegetable produce manager picking bad bananas out of the store display yet to be sold …. .An Armorer is the chef who decides which "purchased" banana is good enough for a banana split, and which lousy banana is hidden in banana nut bread.

  7. I'm a 71 year old Mechanical designer. Mil-Spec is a minimum quality standardization combined with interchangeability. It can be a lot of middle quality parts built by the lowest bidder. Unless an item is "declared" special, like an aircraft part, you cannot assume quality. . . If you buy a blank custom 1911 pistol frame, it may be higher quality, but standard parts may not fit it without a bit of polishing. If you buy a pile of Mil-Spec parts, some will be oversize to a limit, some will be undersize to a limit. THIS IS WHY THERE IS AN ASSIGNED ARMORER, who knows to watch that no-one gets a combination of "odd" parts assembled to "the worst rifle". . . .The opposite of this is the expression "One in a thousand Winchesters" where an armorer specifically assembles choice parts to make an above average weapon.

  8. MIL-SPEC. Made by the lowest bidder. USAF veteran here. You would not belive the junk is passed off to the "Troops in the Field" You get issued "stuff" that does not work, and you are supposed to make it work . If you say it is unrepairable. They say you do not know you AFSC.So you get ever T/O. Ever written and attempt to " repair " a smoldering pile of plastic and electronic parts , all the while looking at all the rebuild tags from the depot.
All the while your boss is berating you for being a chimpanzee with a screwdriver. So long story short. Go ahead and buy anything mil-spec.

  9. I assume that the Daniel Defense 14.5 inch upper has a pinned and welded muzzle device… or both the Colt lower and the Daniel Defense lower are registered with Barrack O'Biden's AFT as SBRs. 🕵‍♀👮‍♀🧐🤓😛
