  1. Outstanding Review Howard don't like eotech they tend to be well overpriced .I went with the Swampfox Patriot Green Dot because its easy to see in daylight red washes out in bright sunlight. And its shake awake. It allows me to use my factory sights on my Springfield Armory Hell Cat.

  2. I mean you are known for a circle dot yet not on your new red dot I mean finally a American company who can go head to head with Holosun with there shake awake solar panels and circle dot and we get a dot???ā•ļøšŸ¤ÆšŸ”«

  3. Never buy the new models. There is always a debugging process and then they make changes based on user feedback and returns for mechanical issues. I always let others waste their money and let them deal with the hassles of the "debugging" process.

  4. HR got the news and the Funk. May lots of views come your views.
Thx for all the details. You can't imagine how often reviewers can't be arsed to measure and weigh a product even when it's significant.
EDIT: When you further test it, please check the refresh rate of the dot during quick movements and maybe you can record a short segment to show on the video when you crank up the fps setting on the camera for a moment. Afaik, it's their first led based optic while they're working on miniaturizing their holographic tech which is no easy task.

  5. As always brother HR, great content. When EO Tech sights 1st came out I and my fellow teammates were in love, it was a "come to papa moment". About 2 months ago I was out and about drooling while micro compact scope shopping and after careful debating over a few selections I purchased a new Sig Sauer Romeo 4T red dot for my Armalite. Last night I saw your upcoming video on the EFLX, being intrigued I visited the EO Tech website and compared specs, and I found that the new EFLX (for me) will rank right there beside my new compact red dot Sig Sauer 4T. As a matter of fact, I almost cried when I reviewed the MSRP, specs and weight of the EFLX and found it is considerably less than my Sig. I wonder if the dealer will give me a refund after close to 60 days? Just kidding, so now I cannot wait to get my hands on one of these EFLX and take it through its paces. What I have always loved about EO Tech sights, is the big wide sqaure unobstructed view of the target that I am going to be engaging. As a matter of fact when EO Tech 1st came out I and others were very skeptical with the idea of this big cumbersome Holographic sight, but after using it, my fellow teammates and I were blown away. After which we been sold on them every since. And now it appears I am going to be torn in 2 once again, between choosing between my Sig Sauer Romeo 4T and when I get the EFLX, with all of their incredible features it is going to be difficult to make a final selection. For the time being, if there was anything I would change on my Sig 4T red dot. The 1st thing would be to make it like the sqaure field of view on EO. The other thing I like about my Sig 4T is the solar cell and the shake awake feature which you covered on the EFLX. All other features on the EFLX are almost identical to my Sig. If anyone is interest regarding illumination the Sig has 10 Day / 2NV settings. For Elevation & windage 100 MOA. With only 1X for magnification, but that is enough for me and the time being. Have fun and be safe on the range one and all.

  6. Good morning HR. Any idea what the battery life is with the constant on mode? One reason I am hesitant about red dots on carry guns. I saw a shooter at a steel plate match using one. Half way through a run he couldn't hit anything. The battery cap loosened and the dot disappeared. This is why I got the Masada tactical with the high sights to use if the dot fails. Looks like a good day to hit the range, good shooting.

  7. Here is something I learned many moons ago that may aid others in search of screws for their optics if the ones provided donā€™t work:

"However, for optimum thread engagement, a common rule of thumb is 1 1/2 times the diameter of the screw. So, for a 1/4" diameter screw, you need (1.5 x . 25)=. 375" of thread depth."

That is how to calculate the length of screw that needs to extend past the bottom of the optic. Again, this is a rule of thumb.

  8. This appears to be a very well thought through and designed red dot, from a noted high-quality manufacturer. I look forward to part II. THANKS Howard!

P.S.: Returned to my M&P 1.0, 4.25 inch barrel, 9×19 (military and law enforcement special edition) for EDC. Nothing fancy, but unfailingly reliable and accurate. Older designs do not axiomatically become ineffective, as documented by the millions of J, K, L and N frames, 1911A1ā€™s, and traditional DA/SAā€™s that are carried daily.

  9. I watched a lot of ā€œYouTube channel Xā€™s" reviews of this optic. One thing I noticed when this optic is mounted directly to the top of a P320 M17/18 slide is how low it actually sits in regards to the standard sights. THAT would be a positive thing.

  10. So, hopefully marketing will solicit some customer feedback on this. DPP mount- negative (unless you have a Sig P320 with their original optics cut) Long battery life but no shakeawake? – negative. Single dot reticle with no options for other ones? Didnā€™t Eotech design the first circle dot reticle? Why not have the option? Maybe the next go ā€˜roundā€¦
