I tried my instructor’s AR-15 with an Eotech about two months ago at a USCCA rifle basics training class for my first AK rifle. Afterwards, I was impressed of how accurate my hits were comparing to shooting my AK with iron-sights. Of course, I’m still a beginner in the AK platform and still learning; now I’m thinking if I want optics on my rifle either go for a gas-tube or side-rail optic mount. Until then, I’ll continue practicing with iron sights.
I never liked EOtech. I know they are suppose to be great but we had them on our M249s in Afghanistan and they never worked when we needed them to. The guys just took them off and used iron sights.
When you understand the fundamentals of firearms marksmanship, it's literally said to focus on the target. Your eyes will purposefully blur out the front sight post and sharpen the target in front of you. It does put strain on your eyes, so using this holographic reticle just assists your eyes in target acquisition without added "ADS Fatigue" ( as I like to call it) of trying to strain your eyes to do it. Where I feel people get the misconception is videogames that are in a non-VR capacity. I've shot holographic reflexes irl, in tradition games and VR, and I have to say VR when the modeling and mechanics of a holographic reflex sight are done right, it's scary accurate, but unlike their regular game counter part it defeats the purpose to have a "blurry" optic because you aren't (technically) straining your eyes to do proper shooters marksmanship.

Thanks again to Rooftop Arms for sending me the rifle and optics. Check them out if you feel inclined.

Also stop blowing up Eotechs customer service line Reddit 😂
I'm pretty sure that an eotech reticle is pixelated is because they are a laser and not an led. All lasers look pixelated especially on black surfaces
Not for the nearsighted
The real reason is you need to buy the premium eyeball upgrade from them for the low price of $330

Bro just turn of depth of field. Really not that hard
As a man with astigmatism I can say that the eotech is the best of the red dots I've looked through. They don't tend to starburst as bad
But I want it to look like cod
