Top Rangefinders For Under $200
Any serious whitetail hunter will tell you that using a rangefinder during your hunt, whether you’re using a bow or rifle can only help increase your chances of success. But like most hunting accessories, a laser rangefinder can be a pricey investment and there are many “options” which sound nice but may not be necessary.
Keeping your wallet in mind, I have looked at rangefinders which can get the job done out to 200 yards while taking less than $200 out of your wallet. Let’s look at your options.
1. Wildgame Innovations Halo XRT- The halo XRT is a two button operated laser rangefinder. It delivers good accuracy and easy aiming. Target acquisition is good, but in low light or glare conditions, the optical quality starts to waiver. If you’re looking for an mid-level rangefinder the Halo XRT is for you. It’s average price online and in your favorite outdoor retail shop is approximately $140.

2. Archer’s Choice Laser Rangefinder- The Archer’s Choice provides the best overall options. Designed specifically for assisting bow hunters with the many hunting situations and angles they are often in, the Archer’s Choice provides good accuracy out to 200 yards. Like the others here, it is waterproof, rugged and pocket sized and uses Nikon multicoated optics. With an average retail price of $150, The Archer’s Choice is my pick of the bunch.

3. Nikon Prostaff 3- The Prostaff 3 has the best optical quality of the rangefinders I have listed. However, at distances over 100 yards it is difficult to maintain steadiness on target. That makes this rangefinder a great choice for a bow hunter and with an average retail price of $185, you won’t break the bank to add it to your hunting supplies.

Having a laser rangefinder will take the guessing out of estimating your yardage to target. Regardless of your choice, be sure whatever rangefinder you choose, it has superior optics and good target acquisition.
