I have been really impressed with the Walther PDP Full Size Pistol. That said, the chance to take a 1st Look at the New Walther PDP F-Series and Streamlight TLR-7 did not disappoint…

While I think their market grab for a “Female” pistol is poorly executed, I do like the F-Series PDP. It is comfortable, pretty compact and easy to shoot. Not to mention I actually got all my hits on the Runenation Cold Start, even if I did bust the time hack…

The Streamlight TLR-7 is a handy little light too. I like the fact that it is compatible with so many different pistols. Is it the brightest out there? No, but it is pretty intuitive and plenty bright for most pistol distances. And I do like the lockout feature.

  1. I bought one. The rear sight was way off in elevation and would not adjust. Customer service was awful. The arrogant asshole kept insisting on how many
rounds hand been fired and what brand. I told him it was a problem with the rear sight. Paid a premium price for a defective handgun and walther customer
service was useless. Don't buy firearms from walther. I could have bought two cheap handguns and gotten shitty customer service for the same money.

  2. People who complain about grip size as far as width not length really have not a clue what they are talking about, guess they grew up only shooting double stacks and forger about 1911 single stack guns, no body complained about grip width then. Hate to see these same people not being able to function without a cell ph, now that is really a lost art.

  3. Just picked up a PDP-F and i have to say, it is quiet impressive. Gf has smaller hands and needs more practice in manupulating a handgun. With this model though, she was easily able to run the slide and get a full purchase on the grip. I personally believe Walther, despite the terrible marketing in the F-series, knocked it out of the park. Overall, if you are thinking about getting one of these for say either yourself or your smaller framed significant other, Absolutely do it!

  4. @Kitbadger Always enjoy your content, Ivan. Your ‘Bob Ross-esque’ vibe applied to tactical training and gear reviews makes for a great stance from which to pivot over to the occasional fatherhood and general life advice and perspectives. You remind me an awful lot of an Air Force National Guard Chaplain that I have had the blessing to work closely with for several years here in central Illinois. Although chaplains are considered noncombatents, he is also a softly spoken stalwart warrior in his own right.

Great review. I’ve given a lot of thought to Walther pistols, and may actually consider carrying this one in the future. Good shooting on the Dicken drill. Trying to work on that one myself (i’m also very curious about how Mr. Dicken feels now having a famous shooting drill named after him. I imagine he has fairly mixed emotions about it, as I suspect I would if I were in his shoes.)

    Shalom,

  5. After I got the PDP-F… The Glock 19 became a handicap, and sold them off, heck I even sold my regular PDP!

The best shooting polymer striker-fired pistol I’ve ever used.

    Using a TLR7A and HS 507c2.

  6. Walther really messed up by advertising this as a Female oriented gun. It should have just been called a PDP Micro or something. I’m sure it won’t get as much aftermarket support bc less people will buy it sadly

  7. My PDP is my favorite handgun to actually shoot. I’m hoping they’ll come out with a competitor to the P365XL in the PPS or CCP series with a trigger as good as the PDP and an optic cut.

Good shooting, great video, and I hope you do a Coast to Coast 22 and hit Michigan on your trip.
