Before I was ready to do some deep-sky imaging, I was having some fun with my Nikon COOLPIX P1000 and stationary tripod to zoom into the mountain range, Montes Apenninus, on the moon. To the left of the P1000 is my Celestron RASA and to the right – the Explore Scientific 127MM refractor telescope.

  1. If meteorites made all those craters…. Where’s all the rubble from them ? Why does it seem every meteorite that’s ever hit the moon does so with a ‘head on’ crash…. Why are there none that have come in at angles and left trail paths along the surface ?? Strange if you ask me !!

  2. There is a way to watch like a JWST for any "amature" equipment by Earth to sky gazing, stack multiple camera like even a insecta-eye dish, of high zoom range ability to a single target, versus that one camera on massive lense/mirrors. You'll find it far lighter, far easier to replace/repair, far more advance way to see and just as, or far more light to grasp🖖.
