Comparing 1-10 LPVO Scopes, Which 1-10 Scope to Get?

When I started making videos featuring 1-10 LPVO scopes, the comments would naturally ask how does this compare to this, or that. Now that 1-10 scopes are coming on the market, of course the question is which 1-10 scope should I get? Well we compare three of the current 1-10 scopes out now, the Atibal X 1-10, EOTECH Vudu 1-10, and the Vortex Razor Gen III 1-10. Having some range time with all Dave goes over each one, good and bad and then talks comparison.

  1. I’ve been looking into buying a low powered Trijicon accupoint 3-18x scope/ TA11 Acog or accupoint 1-6. I play video games like Arma, but I think I need to go to a gun store and look through them, but I know I need a good 1x irons or red dot for up close whatever I choose.

  2. I looked into 1-10s but they practically double in price compared to 1-8. I never had an LPVO but bought my first one, which is the new Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8 FFP. It better be pretty good for ~$500 and it is. It is half pound heavier than even my EOTech+magnifier setup. Eye box is pretty generous but still, there is an eye box, unlike RDS.

  3. I am considering buying vudu 1-10, how is eye box compared to Trijicon credo 1-8×28? If class is anything close to Trijicon credo 1-8×28 I will get in. My only concern is eye box.

  4. If you could, maybe a comparison of the LPVO offerings of the same brand against each other? Like all Vortex LPVOs against each other, all SIGs, Eotechs, Nightforces etc

  5. I never agreed with the “I’m not going to dial with an LPVO.” Comment. I can understand on a 1-4 or 1-6 (that said I dialed years ago with the Vortex PST 1-4 and even with the tiny reticle, it was easier than holding over with that specific reticle). When you get into this 10-12x top end LPVO/MPVO arena though, I think having the ability to dial (exposed turrets) depending on the reticle design is a big plus. Even some 1-8 would benefit. (Ie, Nightforce NX8 with the FC-DMx reticle…but then the .2 MRAD adjustments ruin it haha). BDC 1-10, sure keep them capped, but MOA/MRAD reticle, why not have the ability at that magnification? I think Primary Arms new user configurable turrets are an awesome idea (would still prefer low profile locking) however, IMO the reticle in the new MRAD 1-8x compact isn’t good for dialing. Chevron covers too much of the target and no horizontal MRAD stadia to hold off for wind if dialing. Just my opinion in regards to turrets/dialing. Seems several manufacturers get so close in “having it all” but still just miss. They need to talk to each other and combine some features!

  6. Nice! I like vortex’s turrets. The reticle of the Eotech isn’t bad, and I think the locking turrets aren’t far behind capped turrets. I think I may skip the LPVO and go to a 4-16 and a red dot on my spr. It’s easy to get hits on steel @300 with a rds+3x mag so I think anything further I would want the ability to have better magnification, and I don’t need a 1x on the same optic.

  7. I have ATHLON ARES ETR 1-10X24 MIL FFP ATMR3 and I absolutely love it . I've been using it for 8 months or so . I own 2 of these optics . One is for my dedicated 2Gun Rig and the other is for my Shorty 6ARC .
I'm using Warne 1.93 Mount on my Comp Rig and ADM RECON-M on my 6ARC .
I have nothing to say about Athlon ARES ETR it get banged around a lot in matches . I love the ATMR3 Reticle and is extremely useful when engaging targets from 0 – 600 yards.
Sure Athlon is not the best but I damn sure wasnt going to pay double or triple the price for the Eotech or Razor HD .
I'll more than likely get PA GLX 1-10 GRIFFIN MIL ACSS when it comes out because that's my favorite reticle and I've been super impressed with PA ACSS Line Up of Optics .

  8. Dave is the real deal, and I respect him. My ignorance about LVPOs is a non-understanding of how they will help me in my use case. Secondarily, I do not understand why they are so expensive. I could understand a red dot, and decent China-SIG red dots are about $150. I am typically the best and better than the instructors in carbine classes in the standard up to 100 yard classes. At Camp Perry I was a pretty good amateur at 300-600 yard. I was nothing special. I am not denying LVPOs; I just don't understand. I am good at shooting moving targets with a red dot and a good hold on the AR. Not understanding the use case for an LVPO is MY failing, and Dave and his video were great. I have to learn more.

  9. Although a good comparison LPVO vid, I think your vid down plays the level of brightness on the Gen III Razor. The Razor's dot absolutely blooms on a clear, bright sunny day something that other LPVOs can't even come close to. IMHO LPVO compare their dot brightness being "AimPoint bright". AimPoint users compare their dot as being "Vortex Razor Gen III" bright.

  10. The only one to get is when NightForce comes out with their ATACR 1-10. As of right now, I'm running a US Made Vortex on an ADM Delta-C-H 34mm Mount with Titanium levers and a top, rear mounted Holosun 509 ACSS. This whole set up is nice. It weighs a little bit more but the durability can't be beat. Way better than LaRue. I'm running this on a 20" ADCOR Gas piston set up that's been modified to accept a BLKLBL Bipod Handguard, and a MagPul UBR Gen. 2. The thing is heavy all across the board but I don't care. I can do with my rifle what most people can't. I even have a mawl and a cloud defensive gen 1 REIN.
