Good info. I think I may still look into this for my krink-style ak pistol, even with a weak beam. I probably won't use it, I just want SOMETHING to be there as an option, and this should mount tight and allow me to trigger it with my support hand index finger using that integral switch.
I really like the RM1 and RM2. Ergonomics wise it’s far superior to it’s competitors especially at 1/3 the price of say a Modlight or Surefire. Why put a 500 lumen light on rifle length weapon? I have an RM2 on an AR rifle, RM1 on an AR pistol and another RM1 on a PCC. Works great for my intended purposes. IMO it is very aesthetically pleasing and feels natural with my preferred gripping style
Bring it all depends on the use of your gun I'd like the streamlight flood myself I'm not shooting 100-200 yards away if I was shooting long distance at night there are other options that are much better but home defense truck gun type setups I think this works extremely well
Very specific scenario for your consideration: RM1 for $85, for a lightweight 10.5 AR pistol build, mounted at 12:00, no irons, lower 1/3 height optic. Send it, or pass?
Thanks for the review! I was looking at the RM1 for a while, but no longer. For a budget long gun light I do like the Streamlight Protac HLX (27,600 candela) but it's pretty hefty and can suffer from the same tail switch problems if not paired with an Arisaka tailswitch adapter. I'd love to pick up a Modlite one day, that thing looks like a lightsaber.

Can it run on a 16340 3.7v?
What about the rm2? How does it compare?

I do not like green eggs and Ham!!! Lol maybe you would have been better off with the rm2?
Ahhh so it’s as bad as an inforce light. Gotcha
