NOTE: The reticle brightness will appear a little more bright in person vs what can be captured on video. One other thing to consider is that since we film and shoot in the brightest desert lighting conditions, reticles need to be even brighter to compensate for those conditions.

  2. Love the way you guys film! I've run that exact unit you reviewed for a few months before you got it. The reason the illumination looks non existent is the camera/mount style you use. when filming with a camera behind an optic, and not a traditional scope cam… the video will not show a precision dot like your eye sees it. It can, but is so dependent on lighting conditions that are unrealistic for you to control when shooting.

It took me a second to figure out that parallax/illumination knob too… you just use your finger tips. I agree though… a minor improvement there would make the only flaw in this otherwise perfect LPVO disappear.

I hear you on the mount, BUT I found one, and it's perfect… the scalarworks Leap/02. I've mounted this thing on a crossbow, my ar-15, and of course the greatest airgun of all time ;). I'm not sure you can make a better LPVO. Expensive, yes… but like many things, (scopes especially) buy once cry once.

  3. I really wanted to like this scope, but when I saw it in person, I found it to be really underwhelming. Contrary to what Paul said, I definitely noticed a significant amount of spherical distortion (fisheye effect) down at 1x. In addition, the depth of field is super shallow, so the adjustable parallax is more of a necessity as opposed to a cool extra feature. The biggest annoyance for me, though, and you can see it in the video, is the reticle misalignment that comes along with a dual focal plane design. If nothing else, I want my holds to be accurate when I'm at high magnification, and a dual reticle makes that almost impossible. March makes a lot of really innovative products, and they have some of the best glass in the industry, much better than any LOW OEM product (Vortex, etc.) and definitely comparable to European competitors. I just want them to make a normal FFP 1-10x scope, without the dual reticle or super shorty gimmicks. That's the only thing I could see unseating the ATACR 1-8x as the best practical LPVO.

  4. FYI, someone with a phone number based in Hogansville, GA may be scamming your viewers. Someone reached out to me posing as you claiming that I won a gun for being a loyal subscriber and commenter. The person offered a Sig P322, all I had to do was pay for shipping. The cost for shipping, however, exceeded $140. That can't be real.

  5. I Have mine mounted in a grizzly industrial single long scope ring. The illumination ring is also different on mine, it is much lower profile and has grooves for your thumb to push into at a 45 degree angle. Works a lot slicker than the one on yours. It sits on an 18inch rlg ar15, so I'm not worried about recoil with the single ring set up, has held zero perfectly so far.

  6. Im not fan of typically lpvo cause front len is too small for low light shooting they are always too dark at higher magnification. I rather run 2-7 or 3-9 and leave them on max and run canted or piggyback aimpoint micro. Or even aimpoint mirco with big 5x magnifier. Constantly wrestling cattail's slow and stupid. Let review the negatives
    1. Wrestling cattail is slow n stupid
    2. Poor performance in low light

  7. So happy to view another of your videos – quality and excellent content. I purchased a POF .308 AR15 and under the influence of your video reviewing premium LPVOs, I purchased the Vortex Razor and am very happy with it. Thx u!!

  8. Regarding mounts, the Scalarworks LEAP 02 works great with the March 1-10 shorty. That should resolve your mounting problems. Seems to hold zero very well between mountings. To clarify, technically every March scope is made to order. So you can choose other reticles when you order. Presumably you got your scope from a reseller that made the choices for you. If you contact March they will let you send in your scope to have the reticle changed. At least, they have done that in the past.
