  1. IMHO, the subj of holographic sights were opened not correctly but, I can be wrong. There is no light transmitting at target from holographic sight. You can see it during demonstration. There ain't any point on a wall.
When you look at the real holographic sight with both eyes open your brain product an illusion that you see a dot far away in space. Holographic sights utilize all benefits of both eyes opened. But, if you will close one eye, then that point will move from aim point. If you will move rifle on opposite shoulder your sight will also lose aim point. That's not happen with reflect sights. You can change shoulder but reflect sight won't lose aim point.

  2. Thank you! This was what I needed. I recently bought a shotgun for home protection after many years without firearms for financial reasons. My wife wants a weapon for self-defense. She is far-sighted and can't see iron sights. I bought a cheap reflex, and she can see it just fine. I needed to figure out how to use the silly thing so I can teach her. Thanks, great video.
FYI the reflex sight I bought is a Feyachi RS-30. I am looking forward to how it does over the long-term.

  3. Holographic sights being able to get broken glass and still function is pretty cool. I had a reflex sight on my airsoft gun and had a plastic lens protector but some sniper running over the fps limit shot through my protector and cracked the reflex sight glass. It wasn't bad at first but then the cracks spread until the sight was too blurry.

  4. Holographic sights create a hologram that focuses with your eyes far away so the dot doesn't become blurry if you're looking at the target. Considering that half the reason to switch to an optic like this is to address sightpost focus issues, holo all the way. It's not something you can really see with a camera unless someone with a narrow lens and manual focus specifically demonstrates it

  5. I have astigmatism in both eyes and I absolutely love EOTECH sights. Their sight is just so natural and intuitive to my brain and I shoot accurately and fast so not sure why astigmatism is seen as an issue with holographic sights.

  6. I still prefer irons or scopes…they have unlimited battery life. I like red dots for hunting, and holos for closer range shit. Truth is, there’s not a lot of aiming in cqb, that’s why lasers are still around

  7. Excellent vid! Thanks for making it–

Tbh, while I own an older red dot tube, I'm not so impressed with it that I've felt the need to own more battery-powered sights…

As a result tho, I've had a couple of questions that you've now answered!

    Much obliged for that!

  8. My red dot has a GREEN DOT.. Ahhhhh I made a funny! LoL :). Great video! 👍

I just bought a Holosun HE510C-GR Elite for my Black Aces SA 12ga bullpup and it works GREAT. I like reflex sights on my tactical shotguns because of the large field of view. Although I have a few tube red dots on my AR-15s. Like one I have on my 300Blackout.
