If 5.7 wasnt damn near a dollar a round I'd get one along with the jmac/tailhook combo. Ill stick with my DD PDW 300 AAC. That's pricey enough ammo and it serves a similar purpose but with more capability. Still…this in 5.7…very nice

I think the fact they made the handguard monolithic with the upper, and the lack of ejection port cover, are two critical mistakes on the part of CMMG. I can't speak for anyone else, but I'd only want to buy this as a kit and use it to add my own barrel to achieve a folding DI rifle- IMO, the best thing you could get out of all the options these days. The monolithic handguard means that you don't have any real options with regards to configuration, you're stuck with whatever length you buy, and the lack of ejection port cover is a significant reliability liability compared to any rifle that has one- And they could have added one if they used one of the polymer kinds that allows you to install it without retaining it via the barrel nut.
